As far as I can tell, Trump's mental decline is so advanced that he can no longer create coherent lies. Some of the messaging around the Iran was has been mindbogglingly and transparently stupid.
So I don't think Trump will be limited by small details like blaming someone who is "on record for saying it was a bad idea".
Vance famously said that Trump was America's Hitler. And then when given the chance for power, enthusiastically became Trump's VP. Vance is also quite intelligent, if lazy. Vance is obviously a nihilist opportunist.
So my money is on Vance not believing a word of it. But just saying it because Vance thinks it will give him votes when he runs for US President.

The problem is that Trump's supporters are literally a cult. The GOP are the ones with the power to unseat Trump, and the GOP know that their voters will tear them apart if they unseat Trump. Hence this continuing clown show of least resistence by the GOP.
An alternative is Trump stepping down voluntarily. But in best narcissist style, Trump believes he is the best man for the job, any job. "Only I can fix it". And the pathological lack of self insight only gets worse as Trump mentally declines.

Der er som jeg forstår det de små hobbybrug med e.g. får, som ikke vil have ulve. industrilandmanden så som en svinebonde, hvis svin aldrig ser er grønt græsstrå, er da totalt ligeglad med ulve.
Jeg kender et par folk som holder får som hobby, og jeg er faktisk på anti-ulvesiden. Det ville kræve kæmpe ulvehegn hen over store dele af landskabet, hvis vi fik mange ulve. Dyrt, besværligt, og begrænser bevægeligheden i naturen. Den udgift virker på mig større, end gevinsten ved at der lever nogle ulve i Danmark. Det er ikke fordi jeg er bange for ulve - jeg synes bare ikke det giver naturmæssigt mening i et land som Danmark.
Den havde åbenbart forvildet sig ind i et indkøbscenter, den bidte dame havde forsøgt at hjælpe den.

Det ser sjovt ud, men det er vel som det skal være, ikke? Kvindens private sundhedsoplysninger er dækket af GDPR, med mindre hun selv vælger at stå frem med dem. Så selvfølgelig kan avisen ikke bringe dem. Mens ulven ikke er dækket af GDPR...
