You’re welcome

Some of their listed influences are Talking Heads, The Cure, The Smiths, The Sunny Boys, Parquet Courts, Ought and The Strokes. I would say they sound quite English, so London might be just the place for them.

I have a special place in my heart for a large number of FN acts!

Auckland's Ringlets put this track out on an album in June. It's via Flying Nun records and I think it harks back, in some ways, to some of the excellent stuff that label has previously released. There are a few nouveau-"Post-punk" bands that I have noticed recently. Is this a trend?

It's from the album, The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies).

Because there's nothing that I like more than posting stuff on here to little or no response, instead of doing something else more productive…here is another Melbourne band for you. This time a bit more rocking than some songs I have posted lately.

I saw them at a packed pub some years ago and it was pretty wild.

Here's a video of a live version:

I don't know a lot about these guys except they are from my city, Melbourne, and have created a buzz that's seeing them bust out of the band rooms here and into the wider world. If you're in Ireland, UK, Netherlands and N. America, they appear to be touring. I also read somewhere that they have just relocated to London, like so many Australian bands before them.

They have an "angular", art rock sound, which isn't without its charms.

A heavenly example of the indiest, schmindiest, jangle-pop from the ~~Glasgow~~ Greenock sister act. Album forthcoming on Skep Wax and Slumberland.

A nice slice of jangly indie rock from this band from Melbourne, AU. I like their sound.

There seems to be no end to the pool of Japanese indie/alternative/punk/dreampop/shoegaze that the internet serves up to me. This trio are bass-less and rough and ready in a fun way.

The second song released as a teaser for their fourth album, Straight Line Was A Lie. Here is the video.

Also, today's article in The Guardian.

If you like Alvvays, as I do, then you might be into the sound of Sydney band, Bridge Dog. I'll be keeping an eye on their tour dates.

Here's a live performance of the lead track on the album, Counterweight.

Jangly Kiwi veterans continue their 40+ year career with 2 tracks released from an October 2025 album, on the legendary Flying Nun records. They're are one of my all-time favourites.

Here is the video for the track released today, Lucky Day.

The other track, Loline was released with this video in April.

I've pretty much not listened to Wolf Alice at all until just recently. Having dipped my toe into the water now, there's a few songs of theirs I like, including this one. I'll keep exploring their catalogue.

Thanks for saying. The photos you’ve posted on your account are much better than mine, I must say. 😊

The non-chips could have been taken out of the fryer a little sooner. However they were all completely good.

If it’s the one near the San Remo bridge, I’ve been there and agree. However, the best fish and chips I’ve had was on the west coast of Scotland. Australia wins hands down with coffee, though.

If you want to disappear down a rabbit hole, search for “Goin’ Feral” on Youtube.

I could only do that section, unfortunately. It’s definitely on the list to go north and walk the Flinders Ranges part, though.

It’s the first part of a 1200km route called the Heysen Trail. Here’s the website.

Thanks! I enjoyed that.
