Peace be with you🌹🌹🌹🌹

That's wonderful. I've also deGoogled myself and bought a Fairphone with e/os. I hope many others will also disconnect from Google.

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago

Well, I'm not familiar with iOS design. I only know the classic bar at the bottom of iPhones and find the usage really difficult for me. On the Fairphone, I had the choice between Android or iOS design, and I chose Android. The interface works like Android.

I don't think the design is terrible either. Though I suppose it's a matter of taste.

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago

It's great that you're boycotting all of that. And I also hope more people switch from Google. I talk about it constantly.

To your question: Unfortunately, I can't help you with that. Sorry. I'm still exploring the system myself. Maybe you could create a post in the Fairphone community.

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 days ago

I never try it, but I dont think so. When it comes to location, I'm really clueless. I meant Instagram, TikTok, even Lemmy. Sorry I kind of sidestepped your actual question. I meant it in general.

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 days ago

No no. It's not a downgrade. When it comes to privacy, Organic Map definitely progress. I wouldn't use Google Maps even if it teleported me to the place. It's just different, like you said. Took some getting used to, like I said, but that's for anything new. It's easy for me right now to use it. Most people aren't just ready to give up comfort though, and I see that every single day. 🙁

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 days ago

Hey! I tried it, but my phone opened the camera instead of the flashlight. But yeah still awesome =D

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 days ago

Ah yes, that's true. I know that problem too. My family doesn't use it either. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 days ago

Ah, sorry. I don't have experience with that myself. Its my first Fairphone with e/OS. Maybe someone else in the community has tried this and can share their experience?

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 days ago

Ah, I didn't even know about that EU law. The Fairphone is the first phone I actually bought myself, so it wasn't obvious to me.

Anyway, the battery life is really good. Though it depends on how many apps you have running in the background. I don't have that many right now.

About the price: With everything included, it was definitely more than 600€. With the headphones, case, and screen protector, the price naturally went up. But I'd been saving since the beginning of this year, so I didn't break a sweat. The news that Google was going to close down Android was basically the kick in the ass I needed to step on it.

Final word: It's expensive. But for me, it was worth it😊 Hope I could help you a little bit with your decision

I saw the link. its really cool. For now, all my apps are on one page, and it works fine for me. But later I can try. Thx😊

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Aaaah, I see. Sorry, I misunderstood. Unfortunately, I can't help you😟. I don't use these kinds of apps at all.

[–] AuroraSine@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

Thanks for the warning. I knew Klarna has a bad reputation but I didn't know this detail. Anyway, it was really just a one-time thing. My sister used her Klarna account for it. We unfortunately couldn't pay it any other way.

But seriously, it's a shitty Show, what they're pulling there.

Thank you again.🌹

Peace be with you guys 🌹

This is my first Fairphone with /e/OS and I'm really excited😊. It arrived within 3–4 days even though the estimated time was 2–3 weeks. That suprised me, because I live in Germany.

Everything came intact: headphones, screen protector, and phone case. They also included this little pin to get into the SIM tray slot, which I thought was great. There was no charger in the box but that's intentional on their part. Doesn't matter to me since all modern chargers work anyway.

It's really easy to use and murena has its own browser. The default search engine is Qwant, which I don't use because of Bing. But honestly, my main goal was F-Droid and using apps that reportedly won't work on Google-certified devices starting in September. I've already downloaded my own apps like IronFox and I'm happy 😁.

Now I'd love to hear your opinion: I think Google has shot itself in the foot with this decision. By closing down Android further, more people will switch to de-Googled systems.

That's my take, what do you think?🤔

WOW! That's impressive

Peace be with you, Proton Community, 🌹

I was trying to find out which search engine Lumo uses in the background. To do this, I used the official contact form here: https://proton.me/support/contact?topic=lumo.

Unfortunately, I later realized that the official site lists "protonmail.zendesk", not "protonme.zendesk". The domain "protonme.zendesk" looks suspicious, and many sites online report it as a phishing attempt.

I have already taken security precautions on my end, but I want to be absolutely sure before I report this domain as malicious. Has anyone else seen this? Please let me know if you think this is phishing. And i hope you can answer my question about the search engine 😁

Thanks for the help.

UPDATE 30.06.2026 : The domain is real! I'm really happy about this. Why am I so sure this time? Call me paranoid, but I created a new account, switched devices, sent an email using mobile data🤣. I literally got a racing heart when this time that email came through "protonmail", but I write everything, send him the screenshot and the supporter says : "Its real"

Thanks to everyone who wrote back, and sorry if I wasted anyone's time. One of the main reasons I wanted to be sure was my website. I didn't want to publish false information about Lumo's web search. No its time for my update 😁 Thank you all again.

And by the way, Lumo just got an update where it can generate images. How cool is that?

Peace be upon you...🌹 and a strong piece of data protection.

I see this is an unofficial Codeberg page, yet it's still about Codeberg😊. As a user of this Git platform, I wanted to introduce myself and present my projects.

My artist name is Aurora Shine, and I use Codeberg Pages more, since I exclusively create websites. I later realized that Codeberg is more for programmers, but I still find it fits because it's secure.

Here are all mein Web-Projects.

Aurora Shine | Privacy-First Porfolio

Feel free to take a look, and keep in mind that I'm an amateur and I'm fulfilling my vision with the AI Lumo from Proton. All my code is tracker-free. Have fun🌹

Peace be upon you 🌹This is my new web project with all my works.

Aurora Shine | Privacy-First Portfolio

I decided to create this for 2 reasons. First of all, so you as a user can click on all my projects on one page. And second, so search engines can index all my websites at once. Have fun🌹

From important information about Google's abuse of power, to fun projects like the good old Snake. My code is clean.

NO GOOGLE TRACK: Here I have written down the information I collected about Google, especially Project Nimbus, which supported genocide. All information is backed by sources. The page also lists alternatives, as well as security measures using uBlock Origin and the about:config menu in Firefox and LibreWolf.

GHOST SEARCH: A Fun-Project where it looks like you are hacking Google and Bing to get answers undetected without giving them any data. So, a search engine of my dreams 😁. Don't worry, this is just a joke. You aren't hacking anything at all. The actual search is powered by Mojeek a privacy-friendly search engine that does not engage in profiling. Ghost Search is essentially my parody of DuckDuckGo & Startpage, which claim to be secure but get their answers from Microsoft and Google.

SNAKE-RETRO: Kids from the 80s and 90s probably know this. The good old Snake. Since we live in an era of tracking, even on retro game sites, I wanted to look back to a time when games were just games. So I thought, "Come on, dare to try making a retro game without any trackers," and I succeeded. Hope you have fun! 😊

All my projects are in German. Still, I hope you'll understand everything correctly thanks to your browser's automatic translation settings.

Peace and data security be upon you all.

This is my German-language site on Codeberg:

NO GOOGLE TRACK

It covers Google's abuse of power, Project Nimbus, and more. I also list alternative browsers and search engines, complete with pros and cons. I show you how to block Google services using uBlock Origin and strengthen your browser using the hidden about:config menu. The entire text is in German, but I hope automatic browser translation works well enough for you to understand. If you have questions, feel free to message me.

Also, eine Suchmaschine meiner Träume😁.
