I'm going to Linux because I have an older i5 (I think 5th or 7th gen?) which isn't compatible.

I only really kept Windows for gaming but Valve has put a lot of effort into making Linux gaming more accessible and I'm willing to try it out now

Do you dislike your dependency on Android? To the rescue comes Mobile Linux "PostmarketOS" - Funded via Donations (link to 2025 Priorities -> Focus on Reliabilty, Audi, Camera, etc) in c/technology@lemmy.world

I only use my desktop for gaming now but it's old and won't run Win11. I'm going for a SteamOS general release then I'll just drop windows on there altogether

That was the purpose of MirrorLink, but I think it's dead now. I only ever saw Volkswagen support it.
