And it goes straight to my hips. By which I mean the bone marrow in my pelvis.

Special relativity describes that as the light cone - if you flash a light somewhere in the universe, how much of the universe will see it.

I love POP OS, but it being stuck at 22.04 until Cosmic is done is less than ideal. But I'm hoping Cosmic's full release is both awesome and ready when 26.04 is upon us.

That Brunt is so versatile, I could see him taking on a lot of different roles

Yeah its a weird feeling. A mix of relief that things sort of make sense, bewilderment that I've gone decades wearing masks and stimming without realizing it, frustration, trepidation, other SAT words. Plus some suspicions about other kids I grew up with...

I've never met anyone who retired to the middle of nowhere who wasn't back near a city within 5 years because someone's health took a turn. That includes my mother who dreamed of living in a small coast town all her life an did so after retiring, but my step-father's diagnosis of parkinson's cut that short.

There are a couple things that could stymie Captain Jackson. Is there a hungry shark on the bridge? Where is Captain Marvel's cat?

Could we swap to funions? Cold onion rings are gross and hot onion rings seem like a real problem (in context).

Stratasys is claiming infringements on patents it owns (included ones acquired from Makerbot) on things like purge towers, heated beds, and force detection. Many of them things common to most FFF/FDM 3D printers.

Its an interesting coincidence that this lawsuit against one printer maker is happening on the same day as a new product announcement (the Prusa MK4s) from another major printer maker.

In two complaints, filed in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division, against six entities related to Bambu Lab, Stratasys alleges that Bambu Lab infringed upon 10 patents that it owns, some through subsidiaries like Makerbot (acquired in 2013). Among the patents cited are US9421713B2, "Additive manufacturing method for printing three-dimensional parts with purge towers," and US9592660B2, "Heated build platform and system for three-dimensional printing methods."

There are not many, if any, 3D printers sold to consumers that do not have a heated bed, which prevents the first layers of a model from cooling during printing and potentially shrinking and warping the model. "Purge towers" (or "prime towers" in Bambu's parlance) allow for multicolor printing by providing a place for the filament remaining in a nozzle to be extracted and prevent bleed-over between colors.

I was reminded of this oldie but goodie by a post my mastodon feed

Hopefully this doesn't violate the no ads rule, as it is my model. But I'm pretty proud of it and wanted to share.

I designed a backyard feeder to look like the restaurant from Bob's Burgers complete with a Burger of the Day special. It's fully 3d printed (other than glue) and designed to be tough (it wasn't until I uploaded the gcode that I realized it's 1.2 kg worth of filament). So far the squirrels and jays are loving it.
