It was planned to be a distraction so news coverage wouldn't focus on all the protests today. Can't show bigger crowds in rural America than whatever few bootlickers showed up to watch Trump's birthday parade.

Convenient for the Trump administration that the (non-Fox) news is going to talk about this all day instead of the millions of people protesting him all across the country.

Correct. The administration would fucking LOVE IT if there were some armed liberal violence they could point to and use as a reason to make even bigger moves.

Not all of us "2A people" support or tolerate fascism.

When a State actually takes care of it's citizens, it becomes a better place to live and start businesses. That attracts and creates better educated and more affluent people, which makes it a better place to live and do business. People flee the poorer states for a better chance at success in the liberal state. Repeat this for a century or so and that's how conservative states become shitholes and liberal states (and countries) are much better off.

Oh shit I hope he keeps this up

Isn't there that philosophical argument about how God can't be both all-good and all-powerful? If he's all-good, he would have to stop bad things.

It's been well over a decade since philosophy class, but this reminded me of that argument.

Forgot who made it though.

I've definitely seen "median trees" and "sidewalk trees" here in Atlanta get removed or replaced after a car hits them. But for sure, large trees can easily shrug off a car crash. Those are just not usually in heavily urban areas like these tanks are meant for.

Not that it is super relevant to this discussion, but last month someone with a chainsaw cut down multiple (I wanna say a dozen or so) trees along a street in Atlanta in the middle of the night. Who TF would do that?!?! Sad and pointless....

Who said I wouldn't want to live in a city with trees? I just said that in some areas, these make more sense than trees.

Jeez, get off the Internet for a while. Obviously you're looking for someone to argue with. I'm not that guy.

Dumb take. If someone crashes their car into one of these, it can be replaced in a few days. Trees take decades to grow in ideal conditions. Between tall buildings in a city is far from ideal conditions.

Also algae is way more efficient at converting CO2 into O2; I think it's maybe multiple times more efficient using the same amount of light.

I liked it a lot. It was very reminiscent of the Matt Fraction run on Hawkeye in the mid 2010s, which was incredible.

But yeah, nobody watches most Marvel shows.
