There was fine print at one point during the stream that specified that 4K will be limited to 60 FPS.

You gotta press the C button first, to ask them.

No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allowed them to get away with it.

I mean, it seems pretty clear that Luigi didn't have a personal beef with Thompson directly, but moreso with the political system that allowed Thompson to thrive. I'm not really sure why saying this was politically-motivated is so divisive.

Familiarity, I'd imagine. You go to Chipotle in any part of any city, and you already know what's on their menu, how much it'll cost, and how it'll taste. But smaller restaurants, even a local chain, can vary wildly from store to store, and most people probably don't want to spend their limited lunch time experimenting with restaurants they're unfamiliar with.

Just for what it's worth, you don't need CSAM in the training material for a generative AI to produce CSAM. The models know what children look like, and what naked adults look like, so they can readily extrapolate from there.

The fact that you don't need to actually supply any real CSAM to the training material is the reasoning being offered for supporting AI CSAM. It's gross, but it's also hard to argue with. We allow for all types of illegal subjects to be presented in porn; incest, rape, murder, etc. While most mainstream sites won't allow those types of material, none of them are technically outlawed - partly because of freedom of speech and artistic expression and yadda yadda, but also partly because it all comes with the understanding that it's a fake, made-for-film production and that nobody involved had their consent violated, so it's okay because none of it was actually rape, incest, or murder. And if AI CSAM can be made without actually violating the consent of any real people, then what makes it different?

I don't know how I feel about it, myself. The idea of "ethically-sourced" CSAM doesn't exactly sit right with me, but if it's possible to make it in a truly victimless manner, then I find it hard to argue outright banning something just because I don't like it.

I'd "love" to see Trump run off a bridge.

If you are a native English speaker, you can teach online remotely from anywhere or in person in dozens of countries.

I have to imagine that's easier said than done. Even though I'm a native English-speaker, I don't have the slightest clue where I'd even start teaching somebody else. How would one "learn to teach" in order to best position themselves for this type of work?

Just use the calendar on your phone. Set an event for a year from now titled "Go back and see if I was right" with a link to the comment in the description.

I can’t afford to immigrate to another country. I have no money. I have no unique and in-demand skills. I only speak one language. And I’m an American in 2025. No one would want me in their country anyway and I can’t say I’d blame them for that.

I swear, this has been echoing in my head, nearly word-for-word, for weeks now. How does somebody in our position get out of this shithole country?

And I thought they were supposed to be shying away from fossil fuels.

I often make late-night walks down the street to the convenience store. Due to my work/sleep schedule, I can pretty much only do this late at night.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the same time that the local skunks begin prowling around the undeveloped lot between my home and the convenience store. Luckily, they've not yet gotten close enough to be a threat, but I always worry that one night I won't be so lucky, and I'll accidentally sneak up on one and spook it into spraying me.

I've looked online, and most of the articles I can find on the subject are about how to keep skunks from occupying your property in the first place. Which is great, but I don't own the property they're hanging out in, so I can't do much about that. I couldn't find many articles about skunk encounters that offer much advise beyond "stay away, dummy". Which I obviously plan to do, but life doesn't always go according to plan.

I live in the city, so it's actually kinda weird that there are skunks this close to a populated area. The city life has prevented me from having a lot of experiences with skunks, and honestly I want to keep it that way. But does anybody have any advice on how to help ensure that skunks stay away while walking?

Why YSK: Some car manufacturers, such as Tesla, will lie about the capabilities of their autonomous vehicles. Misplaced trust in self-driving technology leads drivers into making unsafe decisions while on the road, endangering the lives of themselves and drivers around them. Understanding what your car is capable of, in comparison to what the salesman told you it was capable of, is important to keep in mind when purchasing or operating such a product.

Currently, no Tesla product - including the inappropriately-named "Full Self Driving" mode - has surpassed Level 2 autonomy, falling behind competitors such as Waymo, NAVYA, and Volvo, who all have Level 4 cars in production.
