What are these tiny dots in eggplants (might need to zoom in)? My wife keeps finding these in most of the eggplants she cuts, and is concerned if this is something bad, or just something normal.

What you are describing sounds like Wurstsalat. But usually it's eaten with bread (dark stone oven bread is best because the bitterness matches the vinegar and onions) and the dressing is only vinegar and oil.
Local versions are "Schweizer Wurstsalat" (Swiss sausage salad) where you add cheese like Swiss or mild mountain cheese and "Lumpe'supp / Lumpensuppe'" (rag soup) which is made with blood sausage and very strong cheese like Romadur.

Hey stranger! I switched for the same reason from reddit to lemmy and while I can't help you with the porn problem... you may want to look into Linux Mint.
There are very easy to understand guides online (e. g. on itsfoss.com you can find an installation guide, recommended first steps after installation, ...) and there are communities here on lemmy as well. So this may not be the same or a replacement for the communities you miss from reddit but maybe something new to focus on and a way to get in touch with other more or less chronical online people :)
