There are many countries around the world investing in their militaries. It makes me think of checkov’s rule, “if a gun is introduced into the plot, it will be used”

I’ve had a relevant quote in my head about this for a long time: “if Russia put down their guns, there would be peace. If Ukraine put down their guns, there would be no Ukraine”
Every stock market is different.
China markets have a 90 minute lunch mid day. South Korea prohibits short selling (Thailand now too). Taiwan charges 30 bps for overnight positions.
The nasdaq will become 24 hours soon .
There’s no such thing as a general market. They’re very diverse.
