Not a pro, but certainly an avid cook with 40+ years of experience. I will also highly recommend the All-Clad pots and pans, Le Creuset dutch ovens, and Lodge skillets. The first two are very expensive, but worth it. All of them are used almost daily, and each has suffered quite a bit of abuse. I would definitely say they are Buy It For Life and would not hesitate to buy again.

People harvest seeds from their crops and donate them to the library.

My local library has a seed library, it's free. My experience with this is mixed as some of the plants germanated were not what the seeds were labeled. I also get seeds from Gurneys online and have had success there.

Pots and planters i get from big box stores, as these tend to be cheaper here.

Actual plants I get from local nurseries, we have several within 30 minutes drive.

I grow mostly food, and I plant root ends of green onions, sprouting garlic, and sprouting potatoes with a lot of success. Careful with the potatoes, as the grocery store potatoes may have blight whereas seed potatoes from the nursery should not.

Use a sharp knife because a duller knife is less safe, and it does more smashing than cutting which casues more fumes.

Don't put your head over the onions as you work. Take a half step back and extend your arms more so you're further away from the fumes.

If your kitchen is not well ventilated, put your cutting board on the stove and turn on the hood.

Tortilla chips are the ultimate delivery mechanism. Chips and salsa, bean dip, guacamole, or queso. Combine some or all, or add cheese or protein and you have nachos. Or eat the chips just for the salt.

Local newspapers and popular magazines are generally around 5th - 7th grade reading level so they can reach a broad audience.

Depends on your perspective. I consider taking time to read a book or doing some gardening to be bettering oneself. A 5am run would benefit me to be in better shape, but it deprives me of an hour of sleep.

A lot of tech evolves and changes quickly, and a whole lot of people just dont like change, especially as they get older. It is also harder to learn new things as you get older. While it doesn't apply across the board, the "can't teach an old dog" addage generally holds true. This is not something that will go away. If you dont want to become that person, continue to exercise your brain as you age, and learning new tricks will be easier.

"Like what kind of person is left an entire house and thinks "yeah, I deserve all of this and my siblings deserve nothing"

The person that was there taking care of the parents, getting them to doctor appointments and taking time off work to provide for them while everyone else was absent physically and/or financially. Nobody else cared when they were alive, they dont get to care now that they are dead.
