"Video Killed the Radio Star" was originally released as a single in 1979, and then a slightly different edit was released on their first full-length LP in 1980. So it's sort of a "border" 80s song. And, of course, its biggest claim to fame was being the first song released on MTV when the network first launched (although they used the single edit I think).
Follow up to this post: In the video, Glover makes reference to a man named Mr. Far, followed by a shot of himself wearing the outfit he wore on a (sort of) famous episode of David Letterman. Also, Mr. Farr's full name is Rubin Farr, and Glover played him in the movie Rubin & Ed (1991), which I have not seen but I think I probably will now.
