Another possibility is to not connect your TV to the internet and use a PC/shield TV/game console/other android streaming box as your way to get content on your tv
You can, its an option if you use tailscale. https://tailscale.com/mullvad
Also look into using tailscale lock to secure things more if you do decide to use it
That sounds fun, might do that part time in this scenario while getting through the backlog of media that's piled up over the years.
