I had an idea for a book some years ago. There’s an airborne virus that makes every human on the planet infertile.

The only way humans can reproduce is via cloning. Clones which are not only genetically modified for the best traits, but also improved. Each country gets an allocated amount.

There’s a catch - the clones are programmed to abide by rules (don’t be a dick, don’t harm others, be considerate of the environment and make every effort to improve it). If they stray too far, they shit out all of their organs and die.

Oh c’mon. This was hardly a last minute publisher decision following Sony’s announcement.

Now I’m imagining ‘Moon Melons, Moon Mangos and Moon Mangetout”

I get that, some of this is what others have told me (in a positive way) and it’s actually gained respect.

But where it really matters, I’m seen as more of a problem in jobs (despite outputting more than a lot of people and having a lot of feedback/input)

I find in jobs that I get a lot of praise and respect from immediate colleagues, which is generally how I progress so quick (plus putting in the effort) but I can tell higher up I’m seen as more of a problem

A) There is no further progression in my role.

B) Everybody is a number. There’s employment laws and trade unions for a reason.

I’m very disliked - I’m not afraid to call BS out, speak my mind, I’m not false around senior management and treat everybody equally. I put my foot down with wrong doings, particularly those affecting employments rights (where others put their head in the sand)

I don’t do socials, I’m probably overly keen and grab work at any opportunity which makes others look bad. I’ve made suggestions that have improved the way we work, which others have taken credit for.

What have I learned?

It’s just a job. The only thing I have in common with most people is we work in the same place. I’ve learned not to care.

There’s so much hate, but Sony are basically the last ones to do this. It sucks, but it’s the way the industry has been going for years

I’m not one of those people who pretends they will play a physical disc game for the rest of their life

I do however like physical for two reasons. Firstly, the price, how tf can you justify charging more when you are cutting out all of the middlemen and listing on your own online store. Secondly, resale. I can buy a game, play it and resell.

If the tradeoff on going digital was that games were 50% cheaper, then I’d be happy. I wouldn’t have to hoard games and I’d have the convenience of digital.

This

Whilst I don’t agree with it, it’s hardly something new.

There is no world where Nintendo had you covered

Their hardware and systems, particularly any online connectivity is 20hrs behind. They’ve also be the shittiest of them all with price hikes

Of course, it’s Japan. What do people think that anime was based on? Clearly not fiction.
