Finger painting sounds like incredible fun, but I still remember one of the first finger painting works I ever made as a child, which was alternating blotches of red and green that looked satisfying to me. The teacher said, "Oh, a Christmas plant!" which was a completely uninformed assessment because in reality it represented nothing but pretty colors. It was the first time I knew what it felt like to create something that was misunderstood by the viewer.

What I'm saying is, I know how David Lynch often felt.

As a liberal, literally the only thing I can conceive of doing is to vote for people who are making it worse within the legal bounds of a sham democracy established by a genocidal imperialist nation

I guess if contributing to the bad things makes me bad, then there's literally no other thing that I can do because it might cause me a modicum of personal discomfort
