Ive just gone to update my flatpak. I now have to download 7 slightly different versions of nvidia drivers. 7 Fucking times the same Nvidia driver. 7. 7 Goddamn times.

And no, I dont want to hear your excuses for this. I dont care if it only downloads 370 Mbs instead of 371.

No experience in printing, but I guess its impossible to Print that Logo with that Kind of Detail in a timely manner without it looking like shit?

Also, everyone who ever heard about web design and hosting will know that such a picture is impossible to scale up and down, and also that picture will take up literal gigabytes since you can neither use normal PNGs because of the quality nor vector based art (they store the picture as mathematical equasions, so the PC has to render them, but it can be indefinitely made smaller and bigger without it becoming more pixely) because that sort of detail will just be impossible to render on grandmas smart TV from 2010, so you will have to store this picture as PNG in different formats as many times as you want to display that image

Well, but Isaak was believing that after he talked to Dr mercer, or am I wrong?

I mean, he brought the marker back to the planet, which should be what the marker wanted, so why were they still attacking him?

But also, from another perspective, they have set up this twist perfectly. I mean, first of all its pretty logical: everything all right --> marker removed --> everything going to shit, so everything all right <-- marker brought back <-- everything going to shit

This, the betrayal, and Dr mercer being one of the people studying the marker in the first place (and Isaak's girlfriend actually being able to interact with things, and the necros attacking her) have really convinced me that bringing it back was the right thing to do, and the necros not attacking all of a sudden would have been way too obvious

Edit: Wait, is mercer the guy developing the invincible necromorphs, or is he the one helping you bring the marker?

Its just this trope of „Guy locked himself inside some safe room from where he dosent want to come out, so he just commands the player around until he somehow dies the moment he wants to come out again” that aggrovates me.

Recently I've played dead space and some other survival horror games like Alien Isolation, and just about every single time you see someone in there, they're somehow invincible. Like, the fuck, that fat idiot inside that VIP Area there has somehow managed to lock himself in that room for what, weeks? Months? And somehow never did any of the necromorphs even notice him? And that crazy scientist guy? He can just run around in the ship? And what about alien? The medic dude, like, there's a vent right in the room next to him. And he has a broken leg, so the alien can even smell his blood. Also, what about the marshal? Well, thats kinda fair game, he has an effective weapon after all.

No, that sounds expensive

OK, so you just want everyone to just pull 20k out of their ass to buy themselves hardware to run a LLM on?

It does actually

Tell me how.

[–] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (5 children)

So you want to buy me and every about like 10 million people a server that can run a halfway good LLM Model and pay the electric bills?

Also it dosent change any point except 2

[–] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago

Just say shit. You are on the internet. You can say shit, piss, fuck, asshole, and even „Du kleiner hurensohn ich ficke deine mutter”.

[–] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 days ago (7 children)

OK then

  1. It is bad for the climate
  2. Its plagiarism
  3. We are literally putting our means of expressing ourselves into the hands of a few people. So once they just decide that cats are now not allowed, no one will be able to create memes about cats
  4. You are fueling a machine that google is selling to the genocide in Gaza.
  5. You will never be able to create new things. Since an AI only has relatively few nodes that are random (so it can output different things when given the same input) let's say about 10% of your picture is actually new, and the rest plagiarised. You could just input that again and make it more random, but inputting something AI generated into an AI just makes it shit itself, it will not be „random” like an artist thinks about making a new way of expressing themselves”,but random as in „let's just expose a drive to extreme radiation and see what the data looks like after 1000 bitflips
  6. The data collection. If a normal human collected that much data about me I could just sue them for stalking

For fucks sake piracy is not stealing

Piracy would be if you paywalled your meme, and someone takes it while still giving you credit. If someone takes something and dosent give you credit, its not piracy, but just being an ass

That's the problem

Why do I need someone on Lemmy to tell me this when they have a whole 10 or so page website that could just as well detail this instead of the usual „Hey, your keyboard works on this distro”?

[–] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 0 points 6 days ago (2 children)

SystemD is really bloated tho

I'm not saying we should all be using runit, but with systemD making more and more services only work through their init system just creates more vendor lock in

Like, who needs a cronjob alternative that only works if you use SystemD, limiting your software to people using it and locking out everyone needing a less bloated init system like runit? And who needs a systemD calendar?

[–] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 days ago

It was for a long time.

I use that on Hyprland for a year or 2 now

What's the difference? No matter how hard I look, most of their websites just consist of them advertising that they are immutable.

[–] Luffy879@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 days ago

I completely agree

Also I would use areweanticheatyet for looking up kernel level anti cheat, it gehts updates pretty often

https://areweanticheatyet.com/

For context: I habe a PC with an 8gb SSD and I somehow need to get an app on there that only has a flatpak release

But lets see the Positive side: Now the Nazis wont have to burn thousands of books, saving tons of co2 in their Plan to take over the world with propaganda. So, yay for the envoirment I guess

So, I am autistic, I dont really have friends except online, and i have a few other diagnoses like suspicion of schizophrenia and suspicion of psychosis. And, about once a year, I start walking down a hallway of insanity, ending in a big multiple day long paranoid attack- where I just lash our at someone and try to ruin their life because of some really insignificant thing. Last time I lashed out at someone because I misunderstood something, and I went down a paranoid spiral where I would try to ruin their life because I thought they wanted to ruin mine.

The time before I lashed out at someone and said that they were conspiring against me.

So, is there any way to prevent this? At least My therapist says I'm ok to go after the next few sessions. Also, I don't want medication or go to a clinic.

Arch is aimed at people who know their shit so they can build their own distro based on how they imagine their distro to be. It is not a good distro for beginners and non power users, no matter how often you try to make your own repository, and how many GUI installers you make for it. There's a good reason why there is no GUI installer in arch (aside from being able to load it into ram). That being that to use Arch, you need to have a basic understanding of the terminal. It is in no way hard to boot arch and type in archinstall. However, if you don't even know how to do that, your experience in whatever distro, no matter how arch based it is or not, will only last until you have a dependency error or some utter and total Arch bullshit® happens on your system and you have to run to the forums because you don't understand how a wiki works.

You want a bleeding edge distro? Use goddamn Opensuse Tumbleweed for all I care, it is on par with arch, and it has none of the arch stuff.

You have this one package that is only available on arch repos? Use goddamn flatpak and stop crying about flatpak being bloated, you probably don't even know what bloat means if you can't set up arch. And no, it dosent run worse. Those 0,0001 seconds don't matter.

You really want arch so you can be cool? Read the goddamn 50 page install guide and set it up, then we'll talk about those arch forks.

(Also, most arch forks that don't use arch repos break the aur, so you don't even have the one thing you want from arch)
