Doing it before the 30th has the advantage of being able to export subscriptions and import them into the new account. I guess that's not possible anymore when it shuts down.

Well it doesn't really matter whether we switch now or on July 1st, I guess. Only good thing about doing it now is the possibility to export subscriptions and import them into the new account.

You say "dating" but what are we even talking about here? Conversations on the internet?

Anyways though we can't say whether the guy is seriously sorry or not.

Pretending to be in a relationship with someone he knew was 13 is majorly creepy and inappropriate. Why was he even pretending to be 14? Was this part of his broader internet personality or only in his messages to you?

We are talking legal obligations.

If you remove content you posted somewhere in the fediverse, your server will send "delete" activities to other servers anyways. But your server does not know whether those other servers actually do delete it.

"Knowingly" is a big word given that Mastodon GmbH has been transparent about not having extensive legal knowledge in-house and being dependent on their probono lawyers. Which is completely understandable given their company & team size.

There is no legal precedent, but most likely you would only have to prove deletion on your own server.

Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo announced a shock departure from his role at the Alpine Formula 1 team's parent company.

The Renault board accepted his resignation, which after a 30-day notice will come into effect on 15 July. De Meo will remain in his role until then as the board identifies a successor.

"There comes a time in one’s life when one knows the job is done," De Meo was quoted as saying.

[De Meo] was also key behind the decision to abandon the squad's works engine programme in Viry-Chatillon for 2026 - Mercedes will power Alpine F1 cars next season - while bringing on board fellow Italian Flavio Briatore as executive advisor last year.
