Best: small instances with a stable admin team.

Because we dont want people to lose their home instance again in a few months if a hobby server instance shuts down

Great to hear!

Hi, I'm thinking of maybe creating an account on lemmy.zip.

What I read in the legal docs looks promising. I have one question however: I do not see a proper imprint at lemmy.zip . Is the site and the domain privately owned? Not in a foundation or anything? If yes, are there plans in place in the case of the site owner stepping down from the project? Like transfer to another admin? Or could something like on lemm.ee with a closure happen as well at some point hypothetically?

Do you know how it is with the thumbnails for third party hosters? Do they generate as lemm.ee thumbnails?

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 16 points 1 month ago (6 children)

Lemm.ee had and still has strict limitations to image uploads, forcing its users to use external image providers like catbox.moe or postimages. So these images should all still be there.

Granted, I'm not sure how the thumbnails for these externally hosted images work and if they're exclusively stored on lemm.ee

This. And I'd bet there is something that OP can easily do that the rich kid/his family are not used to.

First known all-lgtbq+ crew. I'd bet somewhere around the world this already happened but purely by day-to-day business.

Maybe admins/app developers doing test posts?

Are there plans to add or maybe add more in the future, or is that not currently planned?

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

I dont think lemmy supports this. Posts and comments on your "old" account will stay there and if you look at that profile from the view of another account, will still be visible.

Maybe exporting them as a downloadable archive is possible? So you could keep a copy on your desktop? I dont know.

[–] Microw@lemm.ee 9 points 1 month ago

It won't be gone, but rather appear as an archived copy when the profile is displayed from an existing working instance. So the posts and comments will all still be there.

The bookmarks however I don't know.

Subscriptions can be exported out of your current account and then imported into your new account.

The sixth standalone comic for Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place after the show, and is best read after the The Search and Smoke & Shadow graphic novel trilogies.

Focussing on the Fire Nation Royal Family, the synopsis reads:

Fire Lord Zuko's half-sister Kiyi enrolls at the Royal Fire Academy for Girls. Known for its strict curriculum and even stricter instructors, Zuko worries for Kiyi. When things take a turn for the worse, Zuko takes action by installing one of the people he trusts most as an academy teacher. Can she keep Kiyi on the right path, or will the academy’s cruel culture shape her footsteps into those of her sister Azula?

Interesting to see active drivers publicly liking and supporting such a head-on statement.

"Mystery of Penquan Island" is the first LoK one-shot graphic novel. It takes place after the show, and focuses on Mako.

When a strange missing persons case falls into his lap, Mako is forced to choose between his job and doing what he feels is right! An upturned room and an unhelpful witness aren’t promising starts to the investigation, but when his brother Bolin comes across a surprising clue that ties their own mother to the case, the pair embark on a journey to the small, rustic island of Penquan. The island’s inhabitants seem to have things to hide, and the brothers are determined to get to the bottom of it—even if it means uncovering uncomfortable parts of their family’s past.

The comic released March 4th. It is written by Kiku Hughes with art by Alex Monik and Diana Sousa, made in collaboration with Mike and Bryan.

Dante Basco says the rumors about him returning as Zuko are “not real.”

What are your thoughts on this?

For background: This is from a Paramount merchandising video posted in September 2024 (it’s recently been removed from Vimeo). The video seems to be legit as it was uploaded by a profile with the name and profile picture of someone working for Paramount.

These are the seven cards on the slate:

  1. Seasons 2 and 3 of the Netflix live-action series, "greenlit"
  2. Aang: The Last Airbender theatrical movie. They recently filed a copyright for this Aang-focused movie under the title "Lost Realm", it is supposed to release early 2026. Dave Bautista will voice the antagonist.
  3. The slate confirms the long rumored Earth Avatar TV series. There have been pretty detailed rumours and supposed leaks about the plot of this show that supposedly will be titled "Seven Havens". According to the slate it will release after the Aang movie.
  4. a second theatrical film. The concept art of this card shows adult Aang from behind entering an overgrown building.
  5. a brand-new Airbending TV series. The concept art shows an airbending symbol. There have been rumours about this being a show aimed at young kids.
  6. a third theatrical film. The concept art shows adult Aang airbending.
  7. “new content." The card shows the fire emblem. This might be the Saber RPG game "Ice Wars". Or it is simply a placeholder telling markering partners the possibility to create merchandise based on future content.

The video also ends with the title "Avatar Legends", which seems to be what they call the universe to separate it from James Cameron’s Avatar universe.
