Maybe you are mistaking computer being used for post design clean-up/layout as ai. Because I have detailed what I do, step-by-step with pictures of my process: https://reddthat.com/post/59476267

And even more examples of my step-by-step processes:

I'm older than your grandma, and I've been a professional artist and writer for over 25 years. Long before ai.

Are you an illustrator or cartoonist or graphic designer? Because everything I do is very common in the industry. In fact, most cartoonist use the computer more than I do, because they sketch on the computer w a tablet, whereas I still do my layout w sketchbook, pencils, and pens, before I convert to electronic file.

If seeing me draw an image, step-by-step, then seeing me layout out my stuff on computer, step-by-step, then me telling you the fonts I use, the computer software I use, and my computer desktop system, fails to convince you, then nothing will.

I've literally showed my entire process.

It's a quick one-panel gag comic, that you're supposed to glance at for 10 seconds, maybe chuckle, and move on. It ain't that deep or serious. I write, draw, and post comics all day every day, to my comm, !cartoons@reddthat.com. I'm doing my best to add original content to Lemmy to help it grow.

There's really nothing else I can do about you insisting something is ai. That's on you, not me. I wish ya luck out there, and I appreciated ya giving me your thoughts.

For the record, the actual artist is Skip Williamson. :)

Funny that I'm seeing this on the very day that I got my 1979 "Heavy Metal presents: Alien, The Illustrated Story" mag by Archie Goodwin and Walter Simonson! Thanks for posting. I wasn't aware of this Polish art.

My entire "gimmick" is not about AI conspiracies. The Lemmy part is because I created this comic specifically as a Lemmy-only comic for my own community. The ai conspiracies is because it's a current subject everywhere.

I draw plenty of other comics about other subjects, my other art name is mr.prol1f1c and I have many comics posted from with name in my comics community: !Cartoons@reddthat.com

Also, how have I spammed? I post to my own community and one other comics community. I don't copy my comics to this community, another poster does. Please tell me how that counts as spamming.

First pic is my pencil sketch.

Then I ink over it. I legit showed you how I erased the background. I used the erase tool (the tiny square you see in that image), adjusted brightness/contrast, then levels, then I convert to black and white. Photopea is online and free. Take a pic into it and you can open it right now and see for yourself.

I not here to teach people how to use Photopea or how to draw; there are tutorials out there for that. And they are free.

I posted for other cartoonists who might wanna make the leap from sketchbook to Lemmy, and I showed that it doesn't take any money to do it. I don't even scan my comics, I take pics of my drawings with my phone and take into Photopea (Free photoshop alternative) and I am on Linux Mint (Free) operating system.

I gave you a step-by-step process and you are still no convinced. That least me to believe you will never be convinced. And that's fine. I take it that you are not a cartoonist then, because nothing I have shown is mysterious to people who do this.

The fonts I use for this comic are Comic Relief bold (in Photopea), and that has been discussed too here with proof and screenshots: https://reddthat.com/comment/24099891

To be honest, it's not my fav font. I also tried Patrick Handwritten, but it doesn't look great at smaller sizes. Every comic font I have used, when I save as a .jpg the spacing gets weird. I'm slowly switching over to GIMP, so maybe it's just a Photopea problem.

I could just use some random sans serif font, but I don't like how they look, so I try to stick with fonts that at least look comic-ish.

I don't hand letter. Never have in my whole comics career. Also, many times I change the text right before I finish. I spend more time on the writing than I do the drawing. lol

Oh, well they are both featured in my comm, !Cartoons@reddthat.com

Not sure why the direct links don't work for you. They work fine for me. Sorry.

If interested, here’s my process for creating this. It’s not that exciting and nothing new to the world: https://reddthat.com/post/58923858

It ain't that hard, and hopefully no one is too scared to try doing their own comics. We're all gonna make it just fine, brothers and sisters.
