From the Passion narrative according to John (John 18)

29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”

30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”

31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”

“But we have no right to execute anyone,” they objected.

Literally the exact same method that the Jewish religious authorities used to try to convince the Romans to execute Jesus because they weren't allowed to execute people.

(Note: this is not meant to be antisemitic, just contextual, though the Jews' role in the execution of Jesus has been and is still used to justify antisemitism)

I think you're the one who needs to work on your reading comprehension. The ~~air~~ quotes around "okay" clearly indicate that they think it is NOT okay.

An ark is a boat, an arc is a curve

Sure, but he's Baptist, so he doesn't want more Catholics either.

Ah, he's been alive longer than the USSR lasted, not that he's been alive since before it was founded.

Trump is older than the USSR? Wouldn't that make him like 103?

I was really curious who the third would be and I didn't see it in the article, so I found the opinion and here's the full list:

  • Sotomayor wrote the majority option
  • Barrett wrote a concurring opinion
  • Alito dissented with Gorsuch
  • Thomas separately dissented (and starts the dissent by agreeing with Alito, so he just wanted to be even more of a douche)

Qatar is definitely my guess. They're one of the few nations that are friendly with both Iran and the US.

If I could remember to put reusable bags in my car, I would. I'd bring them into the store if I remembered too...

The most straightforward one is from Leviticus (one of the books that has a bunch of laws for the Israelites, including stuff like "don't wear mixed fabrics" and rules that evolved into kosher rules, along with stuff that's cited for "don't be gay" (though a lot of that comes from Paul's letters too)):

Lev 19:33-34 "When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God."
