For the second time this year I've had an issue pop up that I called out, which was initially hand waved, end up being confirmed a month or two later. I'm expecting a pay raise or promotion any day now... any dayagony-shivering

Big question, so I don't expect an all encompassing answer, but if there was one thing he could change about life in the USSR, what would have been?

Appreciate grandpa taking the time to answer questionsgaddafi-happy

Navigating through Google slop results it seems the name of those covers are havelocks. The US Navy did use something similar, but didn't seem as widespread or at least as commonly associated as it is with Japanese use of them.

Is there a reason why they wouldn't want him reading the shooter's manifesto? "Antisemitism"? Its not like its not out there for anyone to read. Doesn't make any sense, but I have a feeling it might just be a combination of things including how some people have blamed him for informing the shooter's vews.

So one of my crew had been talking on the phone about seeing a live performance for a couple days now. Today they asked to leave early because they had something to do and I didn't hesitate to say yes because I knew that they were going. And I thought that they knew that I knew. Yet when they were leaving they skipped their usually routine of milling about our work room trying to remember if they had everything they needed and instead just popped their head in the room to say bye. Our door has a window and I could see their fit for the event and I fucking lost it.

It was so funny, but having thought of it for a bit now I kinda wonder how it is I still give off such a strict aura when I generally don't really give a fuck if people want to leave early or call out to live their life as long as its not weighing the rest of the team down. Its also kind of funny how they think I can't hear anything they're talking about over the phone (we have a small workspace and not dividers or anything) and I'm usually worrying so much about them hearing what I'm saying (for uh, reasons, not that I'm talking shit about them).

but i also recognize that focusing too much on the long-term horizon can take you out of what you have in your hands in the moment and it's important to practice gratitude in the present otherwise you're gonna be fucking miserable

Feel you on this. I've often had to catch myself and kind of reset myself over the course of a week or two because its so easy to fall into that trap and once your in it freaking sucks.
