It's barbaric. They assume that if you're girl/woman, most problems are basically "female hysteria"!

Not even "it could be [blank], you might want to keep an eye on that and report back if it doesn't go away." Nope! Diagnosis: dramatic.

And women die from this shit. Or become disabled / handicapped. Or it affects their long-term future if they want children. It's awful.

I'm so sorry. I hope that the two of you are doing well.

It's an actual tragedy how women's health is dealt with. They get brushed off because "women have been giving birth for hundreds of thousands of years!", ignoring that it's the number one thing that kills women!! So our reproductive health and concerns are ignored while the ability to reproduce is put onto a pedestal.

I fucking hate it.

Pain was deep, ye. Can't answer the question about physical activity because it rendered me unable to do any! But, yes, exerting any kind of physical effort seemed to make it worse.

I would lie on the cold bathroom floor every month with a heating pad / hot water bottle on my stomach, but it gave little relief through the simultaneous hot flashes and cold sweats.

Two things that actually helped somewhat if I could catch it hours before it started were: eating bananas (I suspect potassium helped with cramping), and, weirdly.. drinking pickle juice. Idk what that was about, but it worked.

But have "your friend" get checked for endometriosis and PCOS!!! That shit can actually escape your uterus and scar up / destroy your other organs!!! No joke!!!!

Excruciating period pain that would leave me fainting and vomiting every. Single. Time.

"Every girl goes through this" said the doctor, convincing my parents that I was just "dramatic".

Turns out I had huge polyps growing out of control! Left scarring in my uterus and high-risk when pregnant.

Dealt with that hell every fucking month since I was 11 until I got onto birth control in my 20s.

"DO NOT RETALIATE because we are vewy scawed pls don't huwt us oh no why are you being so vewy mean to us for no weason? 🥺"

Nintendo's soul died with Iwata.

Neat! Shuttle service! Zaph, get in!! We're going get overpriced drinks at a loud, overstimulating place and complain about it the entire time!!

I remember politely telling the guy at my local Family Video that "Watership Down" should probably be removed from the kid's section. He scoffed at me and just gave me a "yeah.. mkay."

A few weeks later, I noticed it was gone. I commented on it to a different guy this time and he said "yeeeeah, the boss' sister brought it home for her kids. It's gone now. Like... actually gone."

Childhood trauma could have been avoided with that one.

Man, Nintendo literally only recently finally integrated the ability to use voice chat into their system, after almost everyone else has been doing it for 15 years or so at this point.

And you think they can move everything in 2 to 3 months???

I think there's a disconnect here.

I also used to be a hardcore Christian and did the same thing. But the fact is, my own lived experience brought me out of it. No one could have sinply talked me out of my beliefs. It was literally all I knew. These were conclusions I had to come to on my own, because I was questioning them to begin with.

If I was not questioning the validity of it to start, I would not have looked for new amounts of information.

If people are not curious or open enough, they will stay in what they perceive to be their "truth", with no amount of logic being able to sway them.

Basically, if they're not searching for truth, presenting them with truth will not sway them.

So sorry for the blurry photo... but would anyone help to identify the make/model of this vehicle based on this photo?

I've been trying, but I'm stumped. Not a car person, unfortunately. ):

EDIT: Thank you everyone!!! You've been an awesome help!!

To start: no, there are no "trusted male figures" in our lives. My brothers & father are all conservative, and I DO NOT trust them to properly explain things without shame and/or religious context.

My son knows the basics of reproduction, but I've never really explained what's "normal" things for a teenage boy to go through.. mainly because I don't know!

I've definitely put it off, so he's almost 14 and is much more physically mature than most of his peers (he's got hair in places, shaves his face regularly, etc.).. but I'm embarrassed to admit that I know next to nothing about anything else..

Could y'all help me out? What did you go through that he should know about? What should I know about?

Many thanks to anyone who can help. Please don't be unkind. Much appreciated.

EDIT: Thank you so much for all the advice so far!! Please keep it up!!

My son & I have very open communication & a very good relationship.

I sew clothes, bags, and stuffed animals.

I know that it's typically frowned upon to self-promote, but I could really use the help to sell my items.

If you know of an active community where it's okay to post a shop link & show off my clothes and items, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you!
