I think you should just make a habit of talking to people around you. You're kind of putting human interaction on a pedestal and that's just going to make you overthink things.

First of all, you need to understand it's not some pre-planned thing. You should be making a point to go out to do things you like doing - not going out with the explicit agenda of just talking to people. That's why I think the term "cold approach" is loaded, and full of shit--It inaccurately makes it sound like something negative and unnatural--In actuality you've done it many times before without thinking about it.

Seems you've gone deep into this analysis, of which none of it is actually relevant though, because you're not talking about the root cause of your feelings. Which is that you have social anxiety.

Look at it this way, it's the same as approaching someone in public to make a friend. Obviously, that's not inappropriate. It's only inappropriate if you're treating it differently (which you shouldn't be).

Yes I'm permanently fingerprint/IP banned as of last year.

I posted anti-Isreal comments on one of the largest default subreddits, which perma banned me. Whenever I browsed through the front page and commented in that subreddit on my other accounts because I forgot I was banned there, all of my accounts were banned for ban evasion. This happened twice and then I was perma-ed.

For context I used and contributed to the site regularly since Digg without much issue or any bans

Do you ever just pause before in your life and go "shit, maybe I don't really know jack about this after all"

Now would be a great time to start.

I've been using reddit for over a decade and there's a few subreddits I've been banned from (/r/news, /r/crazyfuckingvideos, etc). Unfortunately, I keep forgetting when I'm browsing. If I accidentally comment in one of those my current account gets banned for ban evasion. Is there a browser extension that can block participation in certain communities but still allow you to see content? I can't keep having my current reddit accounts permenantly banned like this and then lose all my subscriptions and preferences and friends etc. This has happened twice already.

Please help.
