Well, then they have to face the consequences of not paying attention to the things happening in the place they intend to go to

Like, yeah, ideally you wouldn't need to worry about this, but this is always a risk when traveling, and politics has that trait of being interested in you whether or not you are interested in it back

Wayland is the new protocol and will be the one that everything uses in the long run

If Wayland works for you, then that's great, don't use X11

The main reason you'd want to use X11 these days is for compatibility. But that's getting less and less of a concern as time goes on

Yeah lmao, that's the worst possible argument he could give I think

"Have you forgotten your economics class?" And then compared public research to a private newspaper

Like, lmao

I think the allies did a pretty good thing by fighting fascism and the nazis

Well, the harm that it did is possibly being one of the catalysts for the modern alt-right movement which directly lead to fascist america so...

Sure, it wasn't the only thing, but it sure as hell was a bug part of it (especially during gamergate)

And then.... What is that money going to get used for, exactly?

That's the fucked up part in all of this. A government is much closer to something like a non-profit than it is to a business. Because, like, when you're a government and have a monetary surplus, what do you do with it? Of course you just wanna spend it!

I know the actual answer is "to give to the billionaires because apparently having enough money for 2000 uber-wealthy lifetimes is not enough" but you know

It really does feel like the beginning of the end

It's WW2, but with nuclear weapons and climate change on top, as you said

Yeah, memes such as this are propaganda, they build morale and inspire people towards a side

They have their place, if it weren't for stuff like that, you'd feel more alone with your thoughts

(And for the record, propaganda is a dirty word these days, but the literal definition of it is something that should be done, so long as it isn't rooted in lies. After all, the allies in WW2 did plenty of propaganda as well, and chances are you wouldn't call that a bad thing now)

In other words, literal time travel

Remember that a loooot of that goes to stuff like funding research, as that's the domain of universities beyond just education. I don't think it's unreasonable at all

AR is going to become a big thing, the hardware just needs to get there first (and it is indeed getting closer)

This has been the case the entire time, it's always been a promising technology. It's not a new thing at all (then again, neither were LLMs, really. Most people just didn't have this insight into the field)
