In case you, like me, were wondering wtf stingrays are (besides a type of fish). This is from their report :

Cell-site simulators, also known as "Stingrays" or IMSI catchers, are devices that masquerade as legitimate cell-phone towers, tricking phones within a certain radius into connecting to the device rather than a tower

Cell-site simulators operate by conducting a general search of all cell phones within the device’s radius, in violation of basic constitutional protections. Law enforcement use cell-site simulators to pinpoint the location of phones with greater accuracy than phone companies. Cell-site simulators can also log IMSI numbers (unique identifying numbers) of all of the mobile devices within a given area.

...

The fact that government agencies are using these devices without the utmost consideration for the privacy and rights of individuals around them is alarming but not surprising. The federal government, and in particular agencies like HSI and ICE, have a dubious and troubling relationship with overbroad collection of private data on individuals.

I don't know who that is.

Can someone link me a screenshot of his tweets ?

let’s rewrite the entire operating system around AI

This should be the headline.

Then everyone can make up their minds about whether or not to stay with Microsoft or finally move on.

Neoliberal politicians must secretly love Republicans.

They can get away with so much because they always have someone worse to point to.

Leftists can't compete on their own terms, because they'll be accused of spoiling things for the "good guys".

For those who, like me, needed a Hank Green to explain that one graph from a few days ago.

Hallway to Room 3: Jump scare when your phone rings.

This just in: 13 stream-ripping sites launch in Vietnam.

You have things like the EuroStack, which is Europe’s response to the explicit merger of American tech with American state policy. Frankly, I think that’s much better than taxing or regulating American tech. Just sideline it. Make it irrelevant. Don’t try and fix it. I mean, American tech is irredeemable. Just make it part of the scrap heap of history.

I like this option.

They'll wait until the bubble bursts (or OpenAI shows signs of weakness) and then they'll eat it alive.

It's not profitable to go after them when the government is tweeting out Pokémon ICE commercials and the president is making deepfakes of himself.

The difference is your comment managed to say that without being a dick about it.

Blocked for being a dick.

Takeshobo’s Storia Dash web platform confirmed that the Gushing Over Magical Girls manga by Akihiro Ononaka will return from hiatus with chapter 59 on October 17 on the Takecomi! website. This ends a year and a half hiatus for the Gushing Over Magical Girls manga, which was due to Ononaka dealing with an illness.

F-15 development process (Centurii-chan)

Now that it's fully out (last episode), I'm recommending this show.

It's dubbed in 11 languages and you can watch for free on YouTube.

The characters and dialogue are great, not just by indie standards (each episode is ~3-5 minutes) but by general anime standards.

Super human Chiharu and cyborg Makina got arrested for breaking space traffic laws.
They're stuck with a crew of misfits who got caught around the same time: Akane and Kanata, the super human pair; and Kurt and Max, the cyborg pals. Ryoko, the police officer, sentenced them to clean up the interplanetary train – the so-called "Milky☆Subway," as their community service.

It should've been a simple job – until the train suddenly takes off into deep space! The crew scrambles in confusion as chaos unfolds onboard!

No purpose! No principle! No point!
A never-before-seen space-train spectacle, powered by nothing but pure momentum!

why don't they just do this? are they stupid?
