That’s the thought experiment I give to people when trying to explain the problem with capitalism. So if they make a robot tomorrow that can perform all human labor who benefits?

2008 is a definite cut off point as far as generational financial mobility. If you had it before your pretty good, if not it’s a lot harder.

This reminds me of a friend who took their parent to Portugal and the parent kept asking for Shrimp Skampi at restaurants. To the point of trying to explain how to make it to the waiters. She was annoyed that they didn’t know how to make it. Also that their shrimp had shells. Like what’s the point of traveling?

In California and Oregon it’s called Jefferson State. Basically a bunch of chud libertarians want to make a very poor 51st state.
