Not all Republican voters are racist. I think of it more like a “Spin the wheel” of different types of bigotry (racist, homophobic, nationalist, transphobic, sexist, religious prejudice, the list goes on), which of course has a large section of “2 extra spins” for them to land upon.

The people the government derives it’s power from the consent of

Do a headcount of which citizens are on which side. Rationality and empathy exist in bubbles, not a sea. Most of the population is really just that plain dumb and/or sadistic and apparently has grown in numbers and magnitude since last time. The side you’re rooting for also will almost always pull their punches whereas the other side simply doesn’t. Give me a deus ex machina fairy tale dream to cling onto because those in power with the big guns and tanks and bombs lust for hurting people and they’ve got the majority of the masses tricked into happily getting themselves and others trampled upon.

Oh, yeah? Me and what army?

So a perfect time for a military coup? 🤞

In the USA, they just become organized peddlers of bigotry and misinformation to take away people’s rights

life is suffering

Bro so true

Suffering comes from attachment, craving, and ignorance, particularly craving for things that are impermanent

How does neurological pain that is chronic and beyond apparent medical remedy fit into that categorization?

Suffering can be overcome by eliminating the causes of suffering

That seems tautological? But just axe my whole damn sensory receptors please

I prefer winter because the cold numbs my chronic pain. The outside world is also a lot quieter. However, the icy and slower roads and the wet muck from the snow are a massive negative.

Now the track listing for the Van der Graaf Generator album Pawn Hearts makes more inter-connective sense with “Lemmings” and “A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers”, the latter of which briefly references the former in the lyrics.

Do you have the problematic instances, communities, and users blocked? Most of the maligned content that I’ve seen has come from two instances that I’ve since blocked from my feed, although blocking their bananas users requires each user to make themselves known first. Lemmy requires a bit of custom pruning of federation to fit each user’s tastes, interests, and values.

Secondly, there is a lot of despair going on due to the current state of society. For-profit media will show things through one lens, and non-profit forums will show things through another. There are a lot of people passionate about making a better world and stopping malicious powers.

Thirdly, amassing fandom communities takes time. Everyone is affected by global superpowers and politics, but they’re not going to be happy about it; in contrast, not everyone is into the same specific pastimes. Attracting people to communities for XYZ fandoms/hobbies/passions requires these communities to stand out among the sea of posts and catch the users’ eye, or for the user to actively seek them out and find them.

Last and least likely, you don’t happen to be sorting by Controversial?

Peter is my favorite artist and he has such a great catalog of other music that I could have chosen to post here. I don’t usually listen to the OVO album, and even though it has some of Peter’s boldest explorations of different sounds and styles, it’s probably my least favorite album by him since not all of these ventures are successful. However, I think this song has just the type of sound and message for what I needed to hear for my life right now.

Gotta say I’m really disappointed with all of the specialty large molded parts. It feels like Nintendo doesn’t understand what makes LEGO special compared to competitor brands and is trying to push them toward the Megablox or COBI direction. These specialty pieces is part of what almost killed LEGO as a company in the early 2000s.

Special thanks to Duane Collicott & co. as well as Skyline High School for putting on a great show for everyone!

Users should be within their rights to use trademarked/copyrighted terms in the names of their MOCs with free instructions. It sounds like Rebrickable is being bullied by an unjust copyright holder. According to an admin, this copyright holder also “most definitely went through and visually identified a lot of MOCs too” — this may mean in the future you cannot have builds which are too well-made in resembling their source material.

I’ve yet to receive takedown notices for any of my MOCs, but it sounds like this situation is developing so we’ll see if existing names can remain going forward.

Context: Every part of this false. Even the base pretense is false. But Trump espouses it to be true so the red hat cult also believe it.

Old symbol:

Somebody on a Lego-based Discord server was trying to include this symbol in their MOC instructions, but Stud.io for some reason doesn’t have that as a feature. Image search results were limited as well, so I acquired the best resolution images of the new and old symbols that I could find and LukeSkydragon on the Discord whipped up these clean transparent png versions. To add these symbols to your MOC instructions on Stud.io, save the images from this post to your computer, open up Instruction Maker Mode, go to Page Design, click the button that says +Insert, click on Image, and select the images.

I’m gathering data for a hobby project and notating where the triangles in the data correspond to Pythagorean triples, but sometimes it doesn’t seem clear to me with certain data.

Can there exist Pythagorean triples in which the leg lengths are not coprime with each other but both are coprime with the hypotenuse? i.e., a right triangle in which (leg~1~, leg~2~, hypotenuse) = (a * n, b * n, c), in which a, b, c, and n are whole numbers and n is not a factor of c?

How can I determine if a right triangle with given lengths can scale to be a Pythagorean triple? If any of the values in (leg~1~: leg~2~: hypotenuse) are irrational, that does indeed mean the values cannot scale to be whole numbers?

Once it is determined that the triangle can scale to a Pythagorean triple, what is the best method of scaling the values to three whole numbers?

Thanks for any help

Edit: I’ve found an effective way to determine primitive Pythagorean triples from given leg lengths. Using a calculator that can output in fractional form, such as wolfram alpha, input leg~1~ / leg~2~ and the output will be a fraction with the numerator and denominator denoting the leg lengths of a primitive Pythagorean triple. Determining the hypotenuse is then simply using the Pythagorean Theorem.

I honestly feel like it would have been better if they didn’t even make the 2025 figure. Such a downgrade and missing key details to the character.

What are your favorite and least favorite figures? Any other downgrades as bad as this one that you can think of?
