Trump likes associating with powerful and influential people, even if they don’t align with his goals and beliefs. Carney is a well respected figure with an extensive resume across Canada and Europe.

. As such, we should be summarily terminated.

Don't worry; we're working on that.

Canadian here.

Before Trump? Ehhh, not really. I've always viewed the US as a place where you vote for which oligarch-backed monarch you'd want to put in absolute power for 4 years. Every 4/8 years the new incoming overlord just rips up whatever the previous one did and nothing of substance is actually achieved.

After Trump 2.0? No. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that Trump is going to surrender all that power he and the GOP have accumulated. And why would he? He doesn't have to. He literally controls every branch of government that he can and ignores those that he doesn't. If the US ever has another election it will purely be for show, like China's elections. The mask is now fully off and the charade of US democracy is over as those who actually wield the power now do so openly on their sleeves.

Please don't forget that even when this company made "better" games and was more profitable, their management and executives were wilful participants in rampant sexual abuse of their workers. Ubisoft is, always has been, and always will be a pile of festering shit and bankruptcy would be too good for them.

A haunting reminder that rainbow capitalism is 100% about profit and convenience.

Corporations were never your friend. They were never going to defend you.

Wait until they hear what data Instagram/Meta collects during use!

But they're a US company so it's ok.

Well, think about it.

They profit off their users by either charging them for a service, selling user data, and/or advertisement. If their dating app was very successful and quickly matched users together, they wouldn't be using the app very long and the company would lose potential profit.

This probably wasn't the case in the earlier days of the internet but it certainly is now. They want you hooked and coming back every day so they can get maximum profit off you.

Paid calculator apps.

Not only are many of them paid - but they are subscription as well. Imagine paying a monthly fee for your goddamn calculator.

A lot of Linux users here think the conversation begins and ends with game support. A lot of us use our computers for work and there is a lot of productivity and creative software that does not play nice with Linux. I've probably said this a dozen times here before but I'll say it again: Not all of us use our computers solely for gaming.
