The Scientology E-Meter (electropsychometer) is a religious artifact used in "auditing" to detect emotional reactions, spiritual distress, or "engrams" by measuring electrical resistance in the body.

First thing I thought of for some reason.

A few people have mentioned the young and old women point, I don't quite understand that tbh. They will and have menstruated and that clearly isn't the point she's making.

So tbh it just seems like a straw man to discredit her position. She's clearly referencing the point that biological men don't menstruate and never will and so shouldn't be included in that group

The connection in this instance seems clear, but it seems from her point of view that she's arguing for the rights of cis women, does one person's rights trump anothers?

With the amount the bridge crew are thrown around every time they encounter a spacial anomaly or whatever, I'm not sure levers and cracks are such a great idea.

I always wondered how the consoles know not to react to those moments when they are holding on to their consoles or being thrown about.

In the words of jean luc Picard;

"We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again"

I was very lonely, a drug addict in complete denial.

Now Im engaged in narcotics anonymous, recently clean for the first time in 20 years.

I have a great partner, I'm step-dad (now just dad actually) to three little nightmares who I love very, very much. Getting them diagnosed (autistic and ADHD) was hell and I'm a lot greyer now that I was at 27.

Still lots of problems but that's life, it's one step at a time.

This is the first I've heard of this and i have to say I'm very interested.

I tried gits: arise but just didn't find it enjoyable as a fan of the original movies and series, the animation didn't do it for me. The animation in this teaser looks great, looking forward to hearing more about the story they'll be telling. Is there any word on when the release is planned for? Will it be dubbed? I wonder who the voice actors will be?

Honestly, the state of recycling in the UK is a joke.

Millions of tons of waste are shipped overseas annually because the UK lacks the capacity to process it, often ending up in countries with poor environmental regulations. And a significant portion of waste collected for recycling is sent for incineration rather than being processed for reuse.

The group is called "the base".

Now where have I heard that phrase before.

"Al-Qaeda" (Arabic: القاعدة, al-qāʿidah) translates directly to "the base" or "the foundation"

Incredible...
