I dont trust anything that isn't fully decentralized. Bluesky is very weird in that regard, its partially centralised. I guess it's better than Twitter (but that is setting the bar very low). I still refrain from using it too often.

It will almost certainly have ads in the future and will inevitably go down the path of reddit, twitter and Facebook so I prefer to use something that is completely out of reach of the CEO if something goes to shit.

To be fair. That's what's basically been happening over the past 50 years. Just look at how we let Russia walk all over us. So it kinda makes sense for them to expect the same outcome.

It's sad since I was on reddit since the beginning. First Imgur turned completely to shit and now Reddit has become a dystopian hellhole. I just couldn't deal with all the shitty practises and enshittification it went through. Also all the subs I liked were filled with bots and reposts ad nauseum.

Honestly I like lemmy way better BECAUSE it has less shitty people on it. Way more meaningful discussion and less shitty one liner "LOL LOOK AT ME IM FUNNY" dumbass comments.

I've been wanting a phone with alternate OS for ages now but it simply isn't there. Guess ill just have to stick to grapheneos for now.

If blackberry manages to come back without using android I might consider them. It its just going to be another shitty android phone with a blackberry skin on it then I'll pass. Probably a fat chance anyway since no one will buy a phone that doesn't have android or iOS.

i switched to Linux Mint as well. I really don't want to use any big tech garbage anymore. They will lure you in with a cheap offer and then when everyone is aboard it's time to raise prices and start the enshittification.

Thunderbird is also a very good alternative to Outlook.

I steered away from cloud services as long as possible and it seems i've made the right choice by keeping it local to my NAS.
