a ram drive is volatile memory. you can get higher performance out of DRAM chips attached to the CPU memory controller, versus putting them behind the PCIe bus using NVME. for applications that only work with file systems, a RAM drive works around that limitation. so, why bother?

because ram drives are easy to accomplish the same thing in software for applications that need it

this is musk’s team - they are not competent enough to get to that level of surveillance (yet) not like they care about cause anyways

avoiding eggs because of this is silly, as so many types of food need refrigeration too. if you can’t trust someone to cook eggs within the 4 hour window after being removed from refrigeration, how can you trust them to not do the same with any meats or dairy?

whatever it is you’re trying to do, be careful that your pi-hole DNS on port 53 is not exposed to the internet. otherwise your server will be abused for DDOS amplification attacks.
