If it's hard to find, first i try searching via jackett integration into qbittorrent. if unsuccessful, i go over to xrel.to and search for it there (its a pure information site, don't ask for downloads there pls). You can verify if there has ever been a release of the specific title, and if, you can see the exact name of the release. if you can't find it there too, you can be pretty sure that there never was a release, neither p2p nor scene. if it's newer content, you can try to search later; if its older content, go buy it and upload it yourself (safely!) so the next person doesn't have the same issue.

well, it's official: Argentine's democracy is a lot healthier than whatever the US are doing

eh, it was more fun 40 years ago from what i've heard. everything is pretty sanitized these days.

funnily enough, there is an area in vienna, austria that is unofficially called "bermuda triangle", owing the name to the large concentration of bars.

i'm pretty sure that there are laws regarding required archival, but laws seem optional for this administration.

The white house trusting signal is nice, but using it to circumvent official communication tools which document messages for the archives is not the way it should be used - they used the "disappearing messages"-feature as well. This usage is more in line with criminal organizations like the mafia or yakuza.

thanks, i love it! i'm just browsing, and the channels seem all to be really the good stuff! i'm a bit weirded out by the secret agent radio, but it's a good kind of weird lol

Seedbox: how to start? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Hi people! I have been pirating for myself for over 30 years now, and with the ever growing size of warez and the laughable upstream limit my ISP has, i have come to the point where it's not practical to maintain a 1:1 ratio for all torrents anymore - my active torrent list keeps growing beyond practical limits, and i'm someone who wants to keep sharing things for the people after me, esp. torrents with low amounts of seeds.

I'm pretty sure that i know more than i think i do, but i would be happy about a few pointers to get started with a seedbox. i have beginner linux skills, advanced user skills, and not shy of reading manuals on how to get things to work. i have not tinkered with docker much yet, but i'm willing to learn.

Edit: From what i've learned and seen i tend towards an dedicated server since i might want to host other services for myself too, so suggestions for what hoster to look at are welcome!

But we DID hear about all those battery improving scientists again. If you compare the batteries in your current smartphone with those from 10 years ago, you can see quite the difference in performance (charge/discharge speed), longetivity (charge/discharge cycles) and capacityIsize. Those things take time, and not every innovation that is found is cost effective or practical as an industrial process - but it might be later on, awaiting additional knowledge to empower it.

thats a interesting twist on the Dolchstoßlegende - but this time it's not a cowardly lie to kill jews, but a commentary on actually happening politics. And all that because the Ukraine didn't want to fabricate dirt against Hunter Biden for Orange Mussolini

I am a big fan of the game Prey, and mixed it up with pokemon :-)
