A tragic story that should be added to piles of child tragedy in Palestine as well as the other affected countries from these conflicts. Speaking of Palestine, I can't see it mentioned at all on the front page of rferl.org.

Yeah, we should do both. Minimize the damage and reduce reliance. I think quitting cold turkey might lead to worse outcomes, including a possible reorientation towards the US under a prospective reactionary conservative government.

Picking a Zohran-like dem socialist leader would help with the recovery.

The millions of Canadians suffering only works for a time. In the end people will vote away freedom in exchange for a piece of bread. This much has been proven by history. So in any plan that involves the suffering of millions, there has to be a portion that ends that suffering in as short time frame as possible. I'm not sure there is one at the moment. There are some concepts of a plan. I don't know if we can realistically do this for example without opening up trade with China and only relying on the EU as a replacement to the US. And right now we're taking a more or less China Bad stance. Perhaps this would change if we get fucked by Trump. Perhaps Carney is using this as a stick in negotiations. E.g. if you fuck us, we'll have no choice but to do China OK in order to take care of Canadians. Maybe the EU is enough, I don't know. I just know that the EU themselves are dependent on China in a few areas and we shouldn't be paying their profit margins to get the same stuff.

It fits, so ... it sits

Not if we're distracted with separating trash from recycling. We have way too many distractions so we might actually not be able to focus on the guillotines.

I'm not sure if we'll replace him just yet. He has to show that he's tried all reasonable avenues and if he does and Trump still fucks us, then he comes out and says - I tried all I could, now we'll have to take these unprecedented steps to prevent economic meltdown. I think in such a scenario Canadians would rally behind him and consent to COVID-like economic supports among other things, even WWII style policies around prices controls, taxes and so on, depending on how bad things get. The other parties would also be forced to support him because it would look pretty bad if they stood against taking care of Canadians during an economic crisis.

Now I hear the angry noises here, and I'm pretty angry myself, but I'm hoping that this is one elbow down so we can get something for it, like keeping supply management. If we get fucked on all fronts then... Yeah. Fuck.

She said her lecture was going to discuss humanitarian aid in a time of crises as well as the challenges aid workers have faced in Gaza and other war zones.

β€œ[I was told] that discussing the USAID cuts could be perceived as an anti-governmental narrative,” Liu told Global in an interview on Friday. She added that NYU, her alma mater, also said her lecture risked being perceived as antisemitic.

Description: As U.S. President Donald Trump continues to propose absorbing Canada, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe disregards the threat β€” but says Canada needs to prioritize energy and food security to avoid putting itself in a 'vulnerable position,' and criticizes a 'lack of leadership' from the federal Liberal government.

Grab your contact cleaner and clean their SATA connectors!

I just bought a new 1TB Crucial MX500 made in god knows what year and installed it in a virgin SATA port of a M710q made in 2016 and I got the vomit you see above every time I loaded the drive. Reseated all the connectors. More vomit. Scratched my head a couple of times reaching for the trash bin and I had a brainwave that there might be oxidation from sitting naked with the elements. Took out the DeoxIt Gold, dabbed all the connectors on the SATA path, cycled them a few times, powered on and loaded the drive. No more vomit.

Since a few folks seem unaware of this, I'm posting anew for visibility.
