Sure. But christo-fascist nationalism is what the US stands for, now. This "freedom and justice for all" thing was always a myth. Now that the thin layer of decency that held everything more or less together is gone, fascism is the new normal and the MAGA shitstains are the true American patriots. I mean, they sure love that. Why pride if interest is more than enough? A nation is inherently an invention. It creates a story why it came to be and why all the different cultures in it's territory are now "the people". I don't think you need that to be happy about where you live and/or to improve. It is also not needed to document history.
Just be happy about where you are from.

Jup, no harm done. Just millions of wild animals that get scared, wounded or are dying as a result. Not to forget the massive pollution of the air and the environment or the people with pets or special needs who are in most cases not really able to protect themselves from that.
