I think it's best to find a local instructor. When you do it online, you have no one to correct your posture. Also if you really want to practice it as a martial art and not just a health exercise, you need partners to practice with. I use online material only as a complementary resource.

It's also really easy to get lost in esoteric nonsense online to be honest, Tai Chi is associated with Taoism and TCM, and if you go down that rabbit hole, suddenly you find people claiming they can energy heal without even touching others. Just something to be wary of.

Makes sense to me since Tai Chi is a bit like combining meditation, muscle relaxation and low to medium intensity exercise. It also had a positive impact on my sleep.

The data is from 2017, surely that perception has changed - still surprising though.

Ich frag mich ob das gut oder schlecht ist. Vielleicht würden dadurch endlich wichtige Reformen in die Wege geleitet werden..

I like being able to turn on a movie or TV series I enjoy while doing some exercises at home.

Having to go somewhere with that annoying workout music blaring 24/7, needing to wait for equipment to become free.. just not for me.

I have stopped using the "All" feed for that reason, it's best to find communities that you're interested in and only look at those in my experience. Finding them without the All feed is the challenge though. I've found Lemmy to be quite nice when it was new, but it seems this is the way all communities go when they reach a certain size.
