This looks aggressively welsh.

Using commas, wherever you want.

They should be logical thought breaks, not adhere to any rules of grammar.

It's been pretty cool seeing new formats and compressions for popular movies get released like yearly.

Streaming services can't keep up with the quality of what get's released on torrents.

Always noteworthy that western countries (the US especially) never had the equivalent of a "red-scare", but for nazis and other stripes of fascists. Instead they hired them to help in the colonial project as cops, feds, prison guards, and intelligence assets.

Please report any brigading genocidal liberals so we can get to them asap.

Question, why did Biden do this?

[–] dessalines@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 week ago

There are zero historical examples of capitalists giving up their power without a fight. The history of the 20th century and the cold war is one of repressive counter-revolutions killing hundreds of millions of people in the global south who tried to build socialism.

[–] dessalines@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 week ago

People have and still are building socialism, and there are many existing socialist states. Many westerners just dismiss them out of hand, either because they're chauvinists, and/or because they believe every negative thing capitalist media tells them about existing socialism (which validates their supremacist outlook).

Quote:

If your first instinct as a westerner is to criticize and lecture 3rd world communist movements, instead of learning from their successes, then you have internalized the patronizing arrogance of the colonial system you claim to oppose.

Oh well (europe.pub)

Those who enjoy the wages of imperialism are more likely to have disdain for, or disinterest in, the complex struggles for national liberation in the periphery, which is dismissed as “the savage barbarism of the East,” in the choice words of Max Horkheimer.

This chauvinistic attitude has become so foundational to Western Marxism that theorists in this tradition often behave as if there were no need to actually study the history of socialist states in any serious manner. In fact, the attempt to do so is often looked upon with suspicion, as a sign that one might be a boor siding with the slaves, rather than a professional intellectual with a keen sense of what is worthy of scholarly inquiry.

Lemmy Release v0.19.11

What is Lemmy?

Lemmy is a self-hosted social link aggregation and discussion platform. It is completely free and open, and not controlled by any company. Voting is used to bring the most interesting items to the top.

Changes

This release fixes a security vulnerability which allows an attacker to delete images uploaded by other users. You can read the details in the security advisory. Thanks to @Nothing4You for discovering and fixing it.
