Instead they voted yes along with 11 Democrats.

The right wing spin of "Please stop doing what Trump wants you to do"?
Or the right wing spin of "Stand up for the people who voted you in to stop Trump"?
Not voted Yes on anything Republicans want, for starters.
No cabinet picks. No poison pills. No sneaking in expansions of power in yearly budgets. No tax cuts for the rich.
It costs as much energy to vote no as it does yes. But it doesn't look good for the lobbyists' bank accounts when they pay for Trump's demands, so why even bother fighting for what's right?
Like they were elected to do. I sure hope they're doing more than the people trying to balance rent and food as they worry about if their senator is going to vote yes on Trump's wants.

Cyberpunk has Japanese decorations and cosmetics because it was invented when Japan was the yellow peril.
At the same time, Japanese-Americans were asking for reparations from the internment camps, charged with the crime of being Japanese and having all their assets sold off without any consent.
Japan was able to help get a start on the next generation of writers with the mass production of anime into Western audiences. Now if someone doesn't watch anime it's seen as weird.
Right now China is that "other" nation. I wonder if in 30 more years we'll look back at it and go "What the fuck were we smoking in hating people we never even had contact with? No Chinese person ever deported me. No Chinese person ever called me slurs."
At this point I think if anyone loves America they've bought into Republican brainwashing. I don't think I could love this country. Anything good has been stripped away.
The best parts are the natural wonders and some of my best friends. My friends can come from anywhere and aren't beholden to their birthplace. The wonders are only wonders thanks to conservation, and Republicans want to strip mine Yosemite for oil and coal.
If I had money I would move. But if I had money, most of the issues would be solved in the first place.
