You had a radio in every room of the house and 2 in the garage even if you never turned it on. There's no way to believe that phones have less cultural push than AM radio had pre-1990.

If they all have guns then what is the point of arming individually? 1 person with a gun verses several gov agents with guns, the 1 still doesn't have a chance and shooting 1 or 2 of the people coming for you is t gonna change that.
