I asked, and @milan@discuss.tchncs.de isn't convinced that they need to host Lemmy frontends like Photon because most people don't need them. Honestly, that's a fair reason. Tchncs.de already hosts so many services that the added overhead of another subdomain wouldn't be worth it.

I guess it didn't matter that much. When linking Lemmy threads to non-Lemmy users, I like using Photon because it looks nice by default. I get to recommend an instance this way, so I could look up the post on photon.reddthat.com and link to that post on that instance. I really want to recommend sopuli.xyz or tchncs.de this way, but no Photon.

Alright then, hear me out.

I hear you. Gadget Hackwrench is the one. I'm actually a little afraid to watch the 2022 movie in case something bad happens to her.

You know how when you hear Steve Blum's voice in a show, you can't unhear Spike Spiegel? Well, when I hear Tress MacNeille, I can't unhear Gadget.

Excellent picks. I'd put https://reddthat.com/ right up there with them. Too bad those two don't host Photon. Sopuli doesn't support gifs, and nobody on discuss.online visits my two main communities. Those are my only nitpicks with them. They're very good.

Nothing much. Just messing around on here and playing !Wordle@lemmy.world and !retrogaming@lemmy.world while I'm waiting for my turn at the DMV. If I can find good art of Luigi Mangione flying with a balloon or something, I'll post it my old subreddit.

That's definitely going to ruin people's athletic careers, but at least this arbitrary definition has some merit in athletics. It's important to say that getting disqualified this way doesn't make someone a less "real" woman. Women can get disqualified from events this way. That's why I'd rename them to the "open" and "two X chromosomes" contests.

I like CSAs! That's exactly the kind of post-capitalist rebellion we need right now.

But in reality, I rely on processed foods more than I'd like to admit. I don't think CSAs can send me pizzas. Until I change myself enough, I'll continue to eat pizza, but I won't buy pizza from Papa John's.

OK, so hold up. This isn't testing if a woman is trans. This test also disqualifies cis women who have genetic conditions that give them masculine physical traits. This article gives examples of women's gold medalists who are cis but would now be disqualified.

We might have to replace the men's and women's categories with "open" and "two X chromosomes". Cis and trans people of all genders might be surprised to find whether or not they qualify for the "two X chromosomes" category. Particularly effeminate cis men might qualify for "two X chromosomes". This actually seems like a fair way to level the playing field, accomplishing what the current men's and women's divisions try to do.

I am a little worried about the idea of disqualifying athletes for having beneficial genes. This could have implications beyond women's sports, like being banned from basketball for being too tall.

Oh sure, now he wants to wash his hands of something.

Whether you decide to fight or flee, I won't judge you. Do what makes sense for you and your loved ones. This is a difficult decision. Don't let Lemmy guilt trip you over it.

I have a family and kids that need me. I'll support the resistance where I can, but I can't fight on the front lines. I'm lucky I'm not a target of this administration yet, but if we go out and protest, we may become targets.

In recent years, my family has been getting our passports together and fulfilling requirements to get jobs in another country. If things get violent in my hometown, we can flee across the border. I'll do whatever it takes to keep my family safe.

If I was alone and no one depended on me, I'd disappear into the resistance. Somewhere, there's a cache of vintage World War II weapons that would love to fight Nazis again. But, I'm honestly not the gun nut type.

I'm American, and I've been trying to boycott Trump donors for several years. They're hard to avoid, especially with food, but it's possible. The way my country is falling to fascism makes me sick. I feel bad paying my taxes because I know my tax money is funding this garbage too.
