California voters overwhelmingly approved the permanent shift several years ago. HOWEVER no one in the state assembly brought it up during the legislative session to ratify it, so nothing changed. Most frustrating display of incompetence for those of us who voted for it.

This right here. Everyone in this thread is looking for MBP use cases or a Linux PC or a second daily driver from a device that is CLEARLY designed to take foothold in the classroom. The $499 price point goes even lower for volume EDU sales. The company is not going to explicitly position this as a classroom device - it’s inherent through its spec limitations and even its packaging.
Now it’s a matter of how delicately they promote it with third party learning management tools, Google Classroom, Canvas, etc, or MDMs.
Watching this closely. They’ve been looking to shed the pacifist overtones for the last couple years. Don’t be surprised if this becomes a trend everywhere but the U.S.
Even if democrats in America maintained a shoo-in two term POTUS, supermajority in both chambers, 40 governors, and 7-2 on SCOTUS, they’d spend so much time pre-optimizing and planning and bickering over special interests that they’d lose the control before any change could occur. Whereas the GOP asks “why change the constitution, when we can just wholesale ignore it?”
ASDW FTW
Did we just skip the “Run blindfolded into oncoming traffic TikTok challenge” between tide pods and choking, or have I not been paying enough attention?
Section 230 needs a paddlin’ now that it’s clear big tech controls every platform and every corner, and Trust and Safety is nothing more than a weak tea after-the-fact press release slash out-of-court settlement promising “changes”.
Yes, because “debates” will help after virtually every amendment between 1-11, 13-16, and 18 has been wantonly violated in the course of exactly one year to the day, with everything else but 21 in the crosshairs.
Debates are the opiates of the privileged naïve. Direct action is the only remedy.
To clarify, this was Canadian patients. One would imagine that number being higher stateside. Good luck getting that data.
Have you tried a spouse?
Seriously though, Structured does this for me now with some tweaking: https://structured.app/
