Other animals like the wheels too, and bees love balls for some reason. :D

The fanfic that tried to apply logic to JKR's writing lead to an actual, real life murder.

What do you mean?

I didn't say that victims can't be abusers, nor did I say that he was a hero.

People who've done harm need to be prevented from causing further harm, but it's important to acknowledge the root cause of their behavior if you want to stop future iterations.

I think that the OP is entirely a joke, but that it comes from the very real villain of systemic injustice that pressures us all to lash out. I think one could see the film as inspirational insofar as being inspired to take violent action, but I would hope they direct their aggression towards worthy targets.

Why would I, a single individual, need two cars? I'd be completely in support of one-personal-car-per-person regulations.

The best places to rent in my country are the buildings owned by the city. Even mom and pop are leeching income off the less-wealthy by providing absolutely no services.

We shouldn't live in a capitalist society. It's a bad system that leads to oligarchy and class division. Economic strength is meaningless when the economy isn't in service of the people. Look at all the rights people in the US have. I'm told they're euthanizing disabled people in Canada now because they're a financial burden on the healthcare system. Capitalism isn't helping anyone except the rich.

I don't mean that renting shouldn't exist, but that it should probably not be run privately for profit.

I'm pretty sure the bad guy was the fucked-up system that tortured him into his behavior. He's a victim as much as any of the people he hurt.

It may actually be part of the depression. We don't know that anyone hates him, just that he believes they do.

Controlled rent is better than uncontrolled rent, but it suffers from the same problems as minimum wage. And why should landlords even exist? I'm not convinced private rentals should be legal at all. If you're not using a property for personal use or a place of business, why shouldn't it be seized and auctioned or rented publicly?

DS Lite and PSP were the golden age of handhelds. Not only did they have great libraries, they were also trivial to hack and run classic console games and romhacks. And you know the quality was good because mine are still working great. Damn Switch doesn't even fit in my pocket.

Cockbrand always sounds like a way to describe a spicy person, like how they say someone's a firecracker.

Something I pretty much never see pointed out is that we don't need billions of humans. Our governments keep encouraging us to have children, but they should be working to end the culture of pressuring people (especially women) into having children because they're somehow incomplete without them. There should be more programs offering access to birth control and family counseling services. This endless and meaningless growth is as harmful to us as it is to the rest of our planet.

Transmogrify! 14 Fantastical Tales of Trans Magic is a collection of short stories focused on including trans characters in magical worlds. Some stories have very inclusive settings, while others involve characters rebelling against rigid systems and/or abusers. While the cover reads very femme, there are plenty of male characters, and quite a few of the authors have made a point to focus their stories on nonbinary validity.

Some highlights:

Verity was interesting due to its inclusion of fluid pronouns, which I'd not seen before.

The POV character of Dragons Name Themselves is a magical school, the building itself.

In Genderella, Ella's wicked step-mother won't let her go to prom in a dress. I'd really love to see a film like this.

Espejismos is similar to some Latine horror films I've enjoyed, and that made it my favorite. It has a mysterious apocalyptic setting, dream-like events, and a bittersweet tone.

Self-Made Boys is a reimagining of the Great Gatsby by queer and mixed-raced author Anna-Marie McLemore. It has mystery, love geometry, good humor, and great pacing.

It touched on some pretty heavy topics, but always managed to make me feel really good about myself rather than depressed or triggered. The author made me feel connected to a wider community through the characters' connections with each other, and the supportive ways injustices and traumas were addressed.

Five stars.
