As a cyclist this is even worse, the amount of people that pass dangerous close and then I catch up to them and they are sending a text in their lap is absurd.

The deliveroo type food delivery riders on scooters are even worse, they drive around my city permanently looking at their phones with one hand on it tapping the screen, passing me as close as they can it seems. I also see them driving on foot paths and down cycle lanes to cut between two roads so they don't have to go around more and more often in the last year or two.

And worst of the worst, taxi drivers. They are arrogant, entitled cunts who think they own the road just because they drive as a job.

I fully support these idiots being banned as they are all menaces on the road and are endangering countless peoples well being with their irresponsible driving. I don't care if "that's their livelihood" they should consider that before driving like pricks.

That would be pretty intense and fucking awesome but yeh these days I dunno if I could be bothered.

I don't do it much any more but one of my favourite pass times used to be taking a load of acid and then going to a very public place or somewhere that you are forced to be around lots of people and have many interactions.

Busy shopping centres, a zoo, busy pubs, an ex girlfriends family wedding where I knew no one. I guess it was kind of masochistic in a way but I just really enjoyed putting myself into challenging situations whilst tripping. The challenge was always to try take the highest dose possible and still be able to actually keep my shit together. I'm sure plenty of people I interacted with at those times thought "this guy is blasted out of his mind, Jesus" but who gives a fuck, I'm never seeing these people again and it actually made me want to speak to people in the first place.

These days I prefer to just lay down, listen to music and drift off into the stratosphere.

I love Japan in general, have been a couple of times, but last time I went we stayed on the shore of lake Yamanaka one of the Fuji five lakes.

We rolled up in the evening and there was a heavy fog, you can only see 5m in front of you sort of heavy. Found where we were staying which was right on the shore but you could barely even see the lake still. It was a traditional futon on the floor type place, first impressions were alright.

The next day we woke up to a beautifully clear day, look out the window to a view of the lake with Fuji rising up behind it, it was fucking amazing! I can't recommend the lakes enough after this experience!

The rabbit island down near Hiroshima is awesome too :D

Fair. Bonus for you :D

But isn't your pay pro-rata? In the UK (unless it has changed, which I doubt) then they get a pro-rata wage, so yes they still get paid in those months even though they aren't working but the money they are getting paid in those months is taken from the pay cheques across the other months to make it all balance out.

So really they aren't getting paid for those months as they don't work them.

The discord community is where I was getting all my information from. I'm sure it has moved on a bit now as this was a few years ago and whilst I do still have the phone I'll probably wait to get the new one and then I'll play around.

Ive been running graphene the last 3 years now and I don't want to go back to google so once I get the titan 2 I'm going to try my best to get some form of Linux going on it. I fucking hate this touchscreen though so I can't wait!

I know there were a few custom ROMs that took advantage of some of the blackberry apps n such for the original Titan series of phones but j could never get the boot loader to unlock on my original titan so I was always stuck with what they supplied which was fairly lacklustre and was what ultimately pushed me away from the phone.

I agree. I realise it is a niche market, keyboard phones, but there are still people out there that want them and they seem to be hooking into that market.

Their software isnt the best but I'm hoping in time it will become more refined along with the keyboards getting better with each iteration. BlackBerry had a lot more practice by the time of the passport and key devices so here's hoping at least one company will fill that gap left behind.

Watching a blackbird try and fail repeatedly to figure out how to fly up to the bird house / hanging feeding table thing in my garden to get at the food in there. Once he figured it out he was coming back and forth over and over again to get the tasty suet and berry treats inside!

Blackbirds are my favourite and watching him learn a new skill was great!

Not your typical commuter really I don't think but happy with how this years new look is coming along.

For this year I have added carbon wheels along with new tyres, a new cassette and some new wraps for the bars. I have also added a new chain as I have been wanting to try out waxing my chain for a while so thought I'd start with a nice new, clean base to try it from.

I've been enjoying riding this new iteration of the bike, next on my list is to try changing out to a 2x drive chain. I got this 1x on purpose to help with simplifying looking after it etc but I just find myself too often in a gear that is just slightly off for what I want so I think going back to a 2x will be much better for me.

I'd be interested to see what other people ride as I realise this isn't what most people would choose to commute on xD

Following on from my post a little while back over the winter I stripped down my Bird bike to paint it up a fresh. These are the results!

Things I've changed-

New XT BB

Nukeproof Headset

DMR Defy stem

DMR wingbars

DMR Death Grips

Raceface Chester Pedals

No brand bash guard / chain device

Vittoria Mazza rear tyre

Everything else I've just cleaned up and refurbed as best I can. I also decided to colour code the brake levers whilst I was at it and they came out pretty well considering i had to "mask" the mechanism where it wouldn't disassemble any further with blue tack xD

What were you guys riding back in the day? This was the final form of my bike back when I was a teenager.

One One Gimp frame

FSA pig three piece cranks

Single speed conversion

24inch Atomlab rear wheel with DMR moto

26inch Atomlab front with DMR moto digger

Manitou forks

DMR wing bars and zip grips

DMR V8 pedals

I was chasing that slack head angle before it was cool apparently, not that I knew that was even a thing back then :D

My brakes were always my feet and I only recently got a saddle in these pictures as I rode without a saddle for around 4 years prior to this.

I wish I still had this bike but sadly it moved on a long time ago now.

Getting in as many rides as I can before it gets really shitty over the winter. Once it gets too wet it is gonna get a full strip down, service or replace everything and give it a fresh look via paint!
