It's from the signal groupchat of top Trump officals discussing Yemen strikes that the Atlantic Editor in Chief was somehow accidentally added to
Fun fact, if you click on the article, the subheading tells you even with their paywall
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans
U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.
Also if you were to go to

Yes, they are making it harder, but that's not a good reason not to not try at all - which is what they appear to be suggesting. For some areas sure it's harder to tell who the owner is and such, but that does not apply everywhere. It's not super difficult to figure out if you are boycotting Target or not
I think the bigger issues right now is just that lot of people forget how it often takes a while boycotts to work. For instance, people boycotted the Montgomery busses for 381 days before they were desegregated
Yes, boycotts shouldn't be the only tool we use, but we shouldn't just give up before trying and never use it all
So never even try to do anything? Absolutely not
Don't spread defeatism for them
Organized boycotts can work
Let's make it drop further. There are Tesla Takedown protests in Europe too! It's growing both within the US and outside of it
Harris had the majority in both of the cities I listed. 59% of Dallas county (which includes much more than the city of Dallas) voted for Harris
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election_in_Texas
80% of St Louis city voted for Harris
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_States_presidential_election_in_Missouri
Nor is it a super majority either state overall. 56% of Texas went for Trump, and 58% of Missouri
There are millions who voted against this. Don't condemn them all
There have been protests for those too. Media coverage of protests has been severely limited making you think fewer people have been fighting back than they have. Here's one in Dallas
Here's another in St. Louis
There have even been people protesting ICE during their raids and doing things like loudly telling people around ICE is there and about their constitutional rights. It's been effective enough that ICE has been complaining about how they are below targets
The USPS unions organized these protests against the entire USPS being dismantled. Sounds kind of like a thing unions should do. Privitizing it is way worse than just affecting "junk mail"
In various parts of the country USPS is the only place that will deliver mail to people because it's unprofitable to do so. Zero mail service nearby affects a lot. For instance, need medications delivered, you may lose that option
Understand that many of these events are as much about the people attending them as they are about the media attention they get
It about building that resistance back up. Many of these places are the kind of deep red where you feel deeply alienated and alone if you're not MAGA
Going to a large crowd of people who are just as pissed off as you and right in your district is a massive boost to your resolve. You want to fight. Seperated you feel alone and powerless. Together you have strength
Call your senators (if dems) and keep the pressure up
Tell them to call for senate minority leadership to be replaced
Calling is just step one of building the pressure but it's a very easy place to get started

Hi, just wanted to check in here. Are you familiar with the concept called "hyperbole" and a "figure of speech"? Figurative language is a thing that people use sometimes, and some people say that perhaps he is using that here. Many people are saying that you can say things like this and still imagine worse
Perhaps if you have other issues with him, those should be expressed rather than just taking a statement like this super literally
