A UN commission has already said Israel’s actions in Gaza amount to genocide, and with journalists barred from the territory, international medical teams remain the primary witnesses to widespread destruction and the more than 70,000 killed, most of them women and children.

Despite this, Israel continues to block specialists needed for life-saving surgeries and rehabilitation.

Naim said Hamas retains its right to resist but is open to long-term arrangements under a genuine political horizon, stressing that disarmament cannot be imposed by international forces or dictated by Israel, which continues to violate key ceasefire commitments.

He also reiterated that any long-term truce must be given the space and seriousness to take shape, as previously outlined in discussions over a 5-10 year calm.
