When Cassette Beasts 2002 launches, those of you who journeyed through the first game will be able to import your history from CB1 into the game via a save game code! It'll carry over your relationships and history, and let your continue your story as the same character!

Additional clarification:

To clarify, the cast of companions in 2002 is all new but by importing your character, your history from the first game is something that can come up in dialogue & the game treats the story as a continuation 🙏

Here's a look at the revamped party menu in Cassette Beasts 2002! We’ve been doing a whole lot of overhauling on all aspects of the UI to improve usability, flow and all that good stuff.

Element: Metal

A Southpaw who has honed their combat arts, and their bodies, over many fierce battles. Their flexible metal armour plating can absorb kinetic force which can be redirected with lightning-quick punches and jabs.

Element: Plant

Gunstingers are known for their deadly accurate aim & strong sense of justice, oft appearing out of nowhere to defend a fellow beast in need. They can occasionally be seen posing dramatically on hilltops, capes billowing in the wind.

Reapurrs exist as a naturally occurring population control in Nodnol, culling beast numbers when they grow too large. In their immature states, they aren’t able to harvest most souls - only miniscule beasts, or perhaps large vegetables.

Element: Beast

Griffiñatas are rumoured to be full of confectionary treats that will spill out of them if beaten. Unfortunately for them, this is 100% true. Over the years, they've evolved sharp talons to protect themselves from potential beatings.

Nell is just one of 12 new companions you'll be able to meet on your adventures in Cassette Beasts 2002. Yep, we said TWELVE! You'll meet more of them soon, promise 🙏

Element: Ice

The Newtpolitan attracts potential prey with its syrupy scent & bright, appealing colouring. Any beast who takes a lick, however, will find its tongue frozen to its ice cold skin & at the mercy of the beasts' unquenchable appetite.

Element: Water

The kindly Anjelly is something of a self-proclaimed medic. They cultivate medicinal fluids in their organ sacs that they are able to inject into wounded beasts with their needle-like tails.

Some big news: we're happy to announce that Bytten Studio's next game is going to be revealed this weekend at the PC Gaming Show 2026!
