I understand this. I'm trying to find a better job and asking people about jobs is difficult. I don't know many professionals who can improve my job search, and going to so-called "networking events" seems odd. I can attend them, but it feels like forming artificial bonds just to advance your own agenda.

I feel this so much. I fucking hate networking, it feel asinine and ridiculous. What is the point in studying or improving yourself if you'll never get a job without magically knowing the right person who'll give you it. It juse feels very fake and dumb because the only reason you'd be at that kind of event is "I need a job, please give me one."

The general job search environment just feels stupid to me. "Advertise yourself on LinkedIn! Go to networking events! Constantly post and talk about all of your sucesses and lessons! Why do you want to work here, at this job specifically? What future ambitions do you have?" It's so tiring and I literally just started. I'm not even out of college yet, and I already just hate it.

Why can't I just post a few projects or smth on a blog, send you my resume, and call it a day? I don't have grand ambitions, I just don't wanna be depressed and hate where I live and the job I do. The goal for me is to feel satisfied or comfortable with my life...

I dunno if this helps or not, but I recently learnt that schools are actually really long networking events. So if you hide in your room and perfect every exam, it's like doing every side quest in Skyrim but never talking to the greybeards
