There isn't a chance that a vehicle with those kinds of thrusters would ever be road legal

Tesla sold a car for years with no way to open the back seat doors in the event of an emergency.

US regulators allow Tesla to do anything.

There is a way. Not practical, but if you pry off the speaker cover, there is a release cable.

    I blame regulators.

The Model X had it under a speaker cover. The model 3 didn't have it listed in the user manual. Fans discovered under a rubber door pocket cover, you could remove a flushed mounted plastic tab and fish out a pull wire to open the door.

It wasn't until 2024 that Model 3's got a door release.

Strange. Maybe it's a Europe thing, but my 2020(?) M3 has a little mechanical lever you can pull to open.

E: both front and back like nop'a 2018 model 3 in the response below

I think you are misremembering. I triple checked and there is nothing in the German Manual for rear door release in a 2020 Model 3.

Here is a German YouTuber showing how you can make your Tesla safer by adding a pull to the hidden door release.

I've been planning to go down to the basement where the car lives to check, but haven't been that way yet. I'll let you know. I guess it's possible that I just assumed the back would be like the front because why the fuck wouldn't it be. But then again, Elon.

In the front seats, right? Everyone (even I agree rightfully so) got mad about the rear passengers not having one.

My 2018 has them on the front and rear. I love that car. I wish Elon want a Nazi because I wouldn't have the shit EV I bought when my wife took over the Tesla.

Here is a German YouTuber showing how you should add emergency pulls to the model 3 because it doesn't have them.

Crazy, but that is also not a 3/Y, probably an X, maybe an S? The trunk of the 3/Y doesn't open into the cabin.

Agreed it is/would be stupid to make a car like that. But my 3 is the best car I have ever driven.

    You are misremembering.

Here are two more German videos specifically labeled Model 3.

There is no manual rear door release on the door handle like the front doors have.

Wow you are absolutely right, no emergency release in the back. I had to actually go touch it.

I apologize for my ignorance, thank you for forcing me to know, I will figure out how to add these release handles.

Still the best car I have ever driven. Fucking Nazi ruins everything.
