I always find it to be the ultimate irony that .ml is blocked in China.

Little spez puts in work parroting their state propaganda and they don’t like him either.

You don't have to like or respect the lackey you hire to get a job done.

Basically they are only for outside propaganda. They dont want their psy ops become known for inlanders.

Then people there could say "That's not what it's like here at all" and suddenly propaganda debunked.

.mls absolutely depend on the epistemic bubble to create a void of knowledge that they can fill with their BS. Anything that says anything bad about the PRC is "western propaganda." All their sources are PRC propaganda, but since it's non-western they claim that makes it valid.

Wait, are you saying they block the lemmy instance, or do they block the .ml TLD altogether?

I’m not sure how accurate this site is though.

That explains why I don't seem to notice many Chinese trolls here. Chinese trolls are more direct and less subtle. They are always reactionary to comments and their responses to criticisms are always PR-sounding. At least that's my experience in Reddit.

Russian trolls, meanwhile, I have to say they are more clever because they always pretend to be from another country. But with the flailing invasion of Ukraine, they have become increasingly less subtle than before and don't even hide it.

Liberals become like blood and soil nationalists for ethnic groups contained within the countries of their state's enemies, but then dress it up as decolonization. You don't want Tibetans to be free, or Tatars, Uyghurs, Kurds, or any of those ethnic groups conveniently only in Russia, or China, or Iran.

It's obvious that you have ulterior motives.

What you are actually insinuating when you say things like that, is that the US or NATO or whatever should go in and support the separatist faction to balkanize those countries and weaken them. Like the neocolonialist playbook.

Or a more subtle variation on that where instead of saying we all should outright support insurrection/regime change in [Country opposing Western imperialism] you say that we shouldn't support them against US/NATO aggression because they have [insert internal issue] and that makes them deserve it, or that they're both bad so don't support either side.

On the off chance you don't want that, ask yourself: what can you actually do to help [issue] in [China, Russia, Iran, DPRK, etc.]? And if you live in the West, the answer is:

Almost nothing, those problems have to be solved by people over there, but you can help, by protecting them against your terrorist-ass government.

Well they used to be slaves, then China freed them, so yeah I'd say Tibet is pretty God damn free, now, lmfao.

No one's protecting the US either here. I think most people here agree that the US, China, and Russia all suck currently and are all trying to control the narrative in multiple countries, corrupting them as well.

You don't need to align yourself with another country to see that one sucks.

Duuur good thing they don't have their own surveillance and social media companies that do the exact same things.

    So stupid it hurts.

Yeah but if a company is caught fucking up they face actual consequences and not record profits lol. Those companies also can't influence government policy, rather the government tells the company its limits on surveillance and data retention.

    I mean, durrr
