Digimon is actually currently in a HUGE renaissance right now. The new card game is entering its 6th year and going strong (there's some fatigue among the playerbase, as expected with TCGs, but it seems to be gaining popularity particularly as Magic keeps doing... things), a fairly popular webtoon finished up a two-year run (apparently the most viewed manga/vertical comic of 2024 on GlobalComix), and probably THE most successful Digimon video game just released last year (Time Stranger -- you may have heard about it if you're in Pokémon circles due to Pokémon fans kinda jumping ship with Legendza's problems).

The thing with Digimon is that Bandai isn't aiming for Pokémon or Disney numbers -- and as I understand it a lot of the money still comes from the v-pets anyway -- so rather than trying to push Digimon into everything or over-promise, they just quietly build up and put out things that people seem to love for its quirky sincerity.
