which is really funny considering every Japanese person i've seen talk about assassin's creed has been like "oh cool, it's Yasuke"
He's been a figure in Japanese media forever! I can't wait until the games industry collapses so I never have to hear another white dipshit complain about Yasuke erasing Japanese culture or some shit
This shit was so fucking disingenous. There is an untold amount of Japanese games and media that takes extreme creative liberties with historical events and figures
The above screenshot shows the extremely historically accurate battle between Jubei Yagyu and Nobunaga Oda in the historical epic, Onimusha 2.
Gamers when Nioh presents an orientalist bastardization of Japanese myths and shoehorns in a white guy protagonist for no reason: Game of the Year! No complaints!
Gamers when Assassin's Creed presents a more historically loving fictionalized story about a national icon: Nooooooooo, this is so disrespectful!
That crowd just hates black people There's a reason thst one streamer with the stupid name called it a "heated gamer moment" when he dropped the N bomb
William Adams is also a historical figure, so I wouldn't exactly call it shoehorning.
It is another case of g*amers being racist
