They can save them at any time. They choose to force them close to death so they can avoid spending time in court.
At least if a doctor takes the day off to spend time in court the hospital can find a replacement to treat the patients. If the doctor stays, but decides to deprive their patients of care to avoid court, then the hospital isn't going to replace them.
Overall, more people suffer and more people die.
I don't blame them, I choose to keep my head down to not sacrifice myself too, but let's not pretend it isn't happening.
Exactly! It's basic human psychology! Which is precisely why 1) experts were able to accurately predict this exact issue and warn everyone that it was going to happen this way and 2) the physicians aren't the problem and shouldn't be blamed or shamed for being human.
